I ended with a 4.8 rating and 5.1k views. Clearly it was off the pace of the winning stories, but I think that was pretty good for a first effort. The story sprang almost fully-formed when I first read the contest rules in late July, and the theme of Independence Day fireworks along with the trope of "fireworks in bed," was both corny and useful. At least it seems people liked it.

I did learn that people will put up with a fair bit of character development before you get to the sex, so that is good to keep in mind for future stories. I'm working on one now for the Twisted Fairy Tales contest that is running. It's due by September 25, and this story is going to run longer than my Summer Lovin' story. It's also going to feature several different explicit scenes with the tale progressing between them. Hopefully I finish drafting and editing it in time for the deadline. Because it does have some supernatural horror elements in it, I can also perhaps use it for the Halloween contest if I can't get it finished in time for the Twisted Fairy Tales deadline.

There was an account which kept showing up in my BS which exclusively posted explicit Disney-themed images. I’d blame the algorithm, but I don’t think BS works that way. I think someone I followed followed them, I have strange on-line acquaintances . I’d never clicked on the content or account, but the images used to appear like clockwork.

Congrats to the winners and kudos to everyone who submitted. This is the first contest I've joined, and it was fun. I'm looking forward to the Halloween contest.

What surprised me the most was the rapid number of votes and views my story received in the first few days.

By the second day of publication, it had over 31K views and almost 700 votes. Two weeks later, it had over 51K views and just over 1000 votes.

To give these numbers perspective, my second most voted-upon story has 85K views, 865 votes but it was published back in early March (6 months ago).

While I did get reads and votes - though a lot less than yours - for me, it was comments. I received a lot of those as compared to my other stories.

Incest+contest is the winning combination for engagement. I did I/T for last year’s summer contest and my stats were similar.

My T/I story in this comp had far fewer votes and views than that. I'm okay with that though because it was a sad story and I expected that many would give it a miss. The comments made it all worth it.

While I did get reads and votes - though a lot less than yours - for me, it was comments. I received a lot of those as compared to my other stories.

Mine was weird. Got quite a few views, decent rating but far fewer comments than I expected. Nowhere near the view or vote count as some of those above though, those are fantastic numbers.
