Which authors do you wish were still active?

I don't know where else to post this thread as I was going through some of my old favorites and saw a ton of authors I wish were still active and posting. My biggest regret is when I found all of SirThopas' stories had been deleted from this site. It was a gut punch. He was such a wonderful writer and his stories got me through some of most difficult times in my life. I would often reread his "Stranger in the Sail" series and felt he never got the recognition he deserved.

I just wanted to get this off my chest and make a memorial for the authors who left a lasting impression on us.

Doctor Wolf and Psyche_B_Mused. Wanting to reread their stories is what originally got me to make an account. Sadly both of them had stopped submitting stories by the time I joined the site.

Aside from the folks who have passed on recently

Pennlady
Pacofear
Enchantment_Of_Nyx

Pennlady left due to health issues and TBH may no longer be with us, but I have no way to know for sure
Pacofear simply stopped writing as far as anyone knows. He had 30 stories but three of the most epic stories here including one with the trifecta EHW. He helped me out a lot when I first started here.
EON wasn't here for a long time, but a good writer I convinced to begin selling and a fun person in the forums. She left because she was tired of dealing with the resident mansplainers and creepy PM's from a couple of regulars.

I was taking "still active" to include "still publishing somewhat often" in addition to "still present in the forum" and "still alive".
Two outta three ain't bad in this case, I just miss having the focus to get stories done.
I'm joking with you.

I took it as meaning people who've been kind of long gone.

You can't force focus, I've learned that over the past year or so, but if you relax and don't care anymore, it will return. Don't underestimate the power of apathy.

I thought you might be, and my original lament was quasi-joking as well, but it can be hard to tell sometimes.
Thank you for the advice, though it's something I've been dealing with most of my adult life. My 'mood' often improves in late autumn and winter... something about watching things wither and get dark usually gives me a boost.
:ROFLMAO:🍂 💀

I knew there was a reason I like you.

My nick name at work is "company name's" resident storm cloud.

Also scourge and my favorite-but younger folks might not get it, is Jetson because I've been fired 8 times over the 30+ years I've been there.
A quick check on the Jetsons wiki (yes, that exists) suggests Mr. Spacely fired him 17 times during the original run. You're almost halfway there, so keep plugging away! I'll be rooting for your next termination! 😇

So many (some of whom have likely died, some of whom we have no idea about)...

I sort of wish @MyBareTorso was. He had a really engaging MC. But it sounds like he was wise to wind it down.

I wish there were more by Evil Alpaca

I would have liked Taltos6 to have finished "A Big Shiny Blue Marble"

Pacofear's "Macallan Promises" was the impetus for me writing "Crash Into Me". Without that story, I probably wouldn't have resumed writing here, and if I had, I may not have stayed.

He's got a lot to answer for, wherever he is. :)

The late Maonaigh was a wonderful friend and mentor to me, and wrote some excellent stories. XavierMayne seems to have segued into writing gay romance novels - and I wish him well, as he writes very well indeed.
There is an unfinished series about a woman who becomes a genie - also an interesting and fun read - by altar_ashes. Not sure what happened to them, but definitely talented.
