The Mansion

Good afternoon everyone
Carrying a cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other, she smiled as she found a guest in her home.

"Good Morning. Welcome to the Mansion. May I help you with something or is this simply a curious visit?"

*smiles warmly* Good morning! I hope you don't mind the unexpected visit. I'm Angie, and this is Apollo. We were out for a morning walk and, well, Apollo seemed quite taken with your beautiful garden. *giggles softly* I couldn't resist the urge to knock and say hello. I hope that's alright? *looks at Apollo affectionately* He's a bit of a charmer, isn't he? *winks playfully*

I smile. She's infectious. Setting aside my book, I reach out a hand to Apollo.

"Good Morning, Apollo. You're a handsome one."

Glancing to Angie, the smile is still intact.

"Welcome to my home, Angie and I don't mind at all. Would you care for something to drink? And please, have a seat. My other half prefers the shadows so it's only us for now. I'm DW, by the way."

*smiles back, her infectious energy making me feel at ease* Thank you so much, DW. It's a pleasure to meet you. *takes a seat, smoothing out my sundress, which is a soft, flowing fabric in a muted floral print, the hem just above my knees, with a faint hint of mud on my knees from our morning walk* And thank you for the offer, but I'm good with just my coffee for now. *gestures to my cowboy boots, which are a classic brown leather with a slight heel, adding a touch of rustic charm to my outfit* I hope these aren't too muddy from our walk. Apollo can be a bit of a troublemaker sometimes. *winks playfully at Apollo, who wags his tail happily* So, DW, what is this beautiful mansion? *leans in, genuinely curious*

"This, my dear, is my home away from home. This is where I sometimes play, definitely write and dabble in the kitchen when I have time. I have a few friends (and my hubby) who stay here from time to time.

Don't worry about any mess. It's fine. I have maids to handle the everyday stuff around here."

When Ice isn't around to kidnap them, I mutter to myself, That man wrecks more of my staff than anyone else.

"And troublemakers are always encouraged around here."

*tosses Apollo a wink*

(smirks, eyes sparklin' with amusement) Trouble's my middle name, darlin', and I'm glad to hear it's welcome here. Though, I gotta say, I'm more used to fixin' fences than causin' a ruckus. Still, it's nice to know I can let my hair down...or put it up, dependin' on the kind of trouble we're talkin' about. *glances at Apollo, a warmth in her voice* also good to hear you don't mind pets *winks at Apollo* You seem like someone who knows how to get into all sorts of interesting situations. *leans in, her voice takin' on a conspiratorial tone* I've got a feelin' we could swap stories 'til the cows come home...or at least 'til the sun comes up. *pauses, a slip of the tongue* Kinda like those long nights when...*ahem*...my "companion" keeps me up 'til dawn. *coughs, tryin' to cover* Oh, excuse me, I mean...when the stars are just too darn pretty to sleep. *laughs, a bit too loud, and glances at Apollo with a hint of a blush*

UGH! I hate those days. The day when I have to take a certain medication and my next day goes to hell in a handbasket. I get sick. It's a side affect I don't enjoy at all, but it comes with the territory. So, I endure. Today, is not much better but I can and will cope. I have writing to do and will, even through my weekend, which I normally do not do unless I have nothing else going on.

So, for any of my co-writers who may read this, I'm sorry. I haven't deserted you, I swear. Every week, once a week, I have to take a medication and it makes me ill the following day, sometimes two. Last week, all week, I wasn't well either, but I don't think it was a side affect. I think I caught something. Bleh. I just get better and med time rolls around again. I'll be writing periodically over the weekend to catch up, here and elsewhere.

Dryfter is taking care of me. Hang in there. I'll catch up ASAP.:rose::devilish:

Hey there, darling! You're like a tough little farmhand, weathering the storm! 😉I know those meds can be a real pain in the—well, you know. But you're still out here, plowing through, and that's what makes you a champ. 👍

Don't you worry about your co-writers, they're like a barn full of sturdy steeds, ready to lend a hoof anytime. Just focus on getting better and let us know if you need a hand with anything. We'll be here, whistling a tune and waiting for you to join the ride again. 😊 🐎

And hey, Dryfter's got your back, so you're in good paws. Take care of yourself, and remember, every cloud's got a silver lining. Maybe it's time to write about a heroine who's tough as nails and twice as beautiful, huh? 😻

Catch you on the flip side, partner! 👋

P.S. I'm always on the lookout for new partners to ride the range with. If you ever fancy a co-writing adventure, you know where to find me. 😏 🤠🐕
