The Thayer award ceremony consists7 of the presentation itself, a Brigade pass-in-review to honor the recipient and a sit down dinner with the entire Corps of Cadets.

Only twice since the award was created in 1958 has this deviated from the plan: Once in the late 1970s when severe thunderstorms hit West Point and then in 2001 the ceremony was cancelled, it had been scheduled for a couple of days after 9/11.

Hanks will have the award mailed to him. It is not known if the petulant Commander-in-chief will order it sent postage due.

Secretary of 'War' Pete Kegsbreath tried to keg-splain this away as our West Point students are too busy learning to be warfighters.

West Point cadets are often a strange mix of intellectual, hedonist, and warrior. They will discuss Kant over lunch, fuck two blonde college roommates after dinner and fight some loudmouth jerk until bloody outside a bar at midnight.

But one thing I have never questioned is their love of the ideals of America: Duty, Honor, Country. Their honor code is "I will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do." So under that code you can imagine how they feel about this current President.
