Today, it was all movies on Prime video:

A second viewing of F8: The Fate of the Furious. Fun as always, with over-the-top mostly improbable stunts and great action. I love this series! It ain't Shakespeare, but it's just fun. It's not every movie where you get nuclear submarines chasing muscle cars across arctic ice.

Next, I finally watched Blue Beetle, a DC comics movie I had never heard of, and it was awesome! The most important aspect, the tone, worked great, giving the film humor, action and a real sense of family. Totally enjoyable.

Right now, I'm halfway through a second viewing of Jonah Hex. Yeah, this ain't no Citizen Kane, and it pisses me off when people ignore the facts of how a Gatling gun works, but it's okay - got some action, but really an empty entertainment.

Watched some Netflix movies today.

First, maybe my 3rd watching of Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. I love this series, because it's knowingly and unabashedly over the top, with highly improbable (and sometimes physically impossible) stunts, but these flicks carry it off with highly entertaining results.

Next was Wrath of the Titans - not my usual favorite genre, but it was fine, and elevated by the presence of the most awesome Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl). Fine if you're into this kind of thing.

Now I'm halfway through The Hard Way, starring Michael Jai White. I'm a fan, and this is fine, fairly standard revenge stuff, but great action is why I'm here in the first place.
