Are you feeling any better?

Yes. The sniffles went away by early yesterday, and I can clear my ears now. Point taken on the Valsalva, but that is how our AME’s always had us check to give us an up or down slip. Also how divers neutralize pressure also, or so I’ve heard.

My problem now is I can’t sleep. Or more to the point, went to bed around 11, read a couple of pages and nodded off, then woke up to join the 4am club here. All I’m taking is Sudafed and some Advil, so no power meds.

All that rambling to say, I’m feeling a lot better! Thanks for watching over us our sisters of mercy!

So, SWMBO got a job a few years ago writing for one of those local rags you see in banks and doctor’s offices. She would sometimes be given a photographer to take some shots. I got the bright idea of getting her a serious mirrorless DSLR so she could do this herself.

It proved to be above her technical pay grade (I think she just liked having the photog tag along) so It has become my baby. I have a love/hate relationship with it, so pick it up and put it down as has been documented on this forum.

Well, I’m in a pick it up phase, and so the next week’s MZ’s will be shots I’ve take either with it or w a trusty camera phone. I’ll try and say which and where if I can recall…been a lot of G&T’s between some of these shots!

I’ve been playing around with LightRoom to enhance. This mornings MZ is a before and after. I’m not exactly happy w how the finished product came out, but I’m still learning the ropes.

This is on the wharf and that brick building was the HQ for a tugboat company. The little tugs were lined up on both sides of the river when I was a kid. This was shot with the DSLR; 82mm 1/100 ISO100 in RAW. The after has been enhanced w LightRoom

I had a busy day today. First the gym where I was worked by my trainer until I was a limp noodle! Then, dinner with a friend. The sky was clear tonight and we saw a marvelous half moon! ️

Wow! Your celestial shots are wonderful! I eventually want to work up to this. I went to the throne of all knowledge..U-Toob and saw a thumbnail on some how to’s. I did get me a nice sturdy tripod so if it’s not cloudy this week, I may attempt a couple of shots.

Happy Wednesday!!! It's Wheels Day at the job today. They're entertaining clients/potential clients and my worksite gets to be the freak show for the day. No matter, I think we're (at least mostly/kinda) ready for them. No matter. These things never quite go as planned anyway. They call this phase of the job "controlled chaos" but the controlled bit is an illusion.


Wat has no illusions, not about this, not any more.


Wat does have coffee, however.
