The nurse knew exactly what s/he was talking about. The nerves are ABSOLUTELY shallow enough to be impacted by this procedure! Thanks! I’ve found as soon as something comes up, my first inclination is to dial up Lili & MissK’s Nurse-On-Call service!
I trust a nurse before all.
I may have relayed this story here before; had a spot of evil Squamous Cell on my hand. Had the MOAS (sp?) procedure done and a few days later my hand goes numb. Call the doc but get her nurse. She tells me, “oh, they just hit a nerve, it will be back to normal in around 10 weeks…”. I go in for my six week check up and tell doc…She starts popping chaff, and saying the procedure wasn’t deep enough to hit a nerve…blah, blah, blah. I told her…I’ve owned this hand for 55 yrs and it was never numb till you cut a divot out of it!
Long story short. Right around the 8-9 weeks mark, hand went back to normal…just like the NURSE said!![]()
