Well, got up and called the “mans” hotline. Told them I couldn’t go today. Gave me the day off, so went back to and snoozed, got up went down for breakfast and decided I better find a local Doc to give me some meds to get home on. Went in and got a two swabs, testing for 19 evils. Was NEG on all but a RhinoVirus?

Turned out it was the University of Miami’s hospital. Nice and clean and had fun flirting with the Cuban and Columbian nurses.. Jumped in my OoooooBer and my girl was rock’n the Yacht Rock radio. Serenading me in broken English!
She did a passable Maurice in falsetto to this forgotten gem:

My niece is in town. She is a disco DJ. And she makes a living doing it!

We were talking and playing disco music today and it was a lot of fun.

Did a couple things around the house in the farm this morning, then headed into the big city for a family get together.

One of my nieces was in town and it was nice to see all my nieces and nephews.

Unfortunately, my daughter could not make it last minute. But still, a great family get together! Good talk, good music, lots of catching up, good food and drink. 10/10 day, even with the commute.

He came home today. Now on insulin... he is sleeping. He is very very tired. His legs are swollen. Dialysis tomorrow. I went through all his meds and am going to throw away everything but what he was told to take at discharge.

I think my mom is scared to be alone.

I just want to go home.

He is prob catching up on all the no sleep in the hospital.

I had a tooth removed a year and a half ago. The dentist was small and cute. I told her if it made life easier for her to do her job, that she could feel free to climb on. She got it done standing on the floor.


If she had climbed on, I'd tell that story like "she did me while riding me" or some such nonsense.


As it stands, I have to say that she did me standing . . . .

Hospital bed the case manager said wouldnt be approved because he didnt have the right diagnosis ....was

Diabetes med he needs is a lot and of course if they had commercial insurance would be 15$ it is 300 to 600 dollars a month. Mom can get from canada about 100$ for 90 days.

I am not a huge fan of it. It’s not my kinda music… But I can appreciate seriously good music. KC and The Sunshine band are really great. Bee Gees too. (They were a really good pop band before they took a disco turn…)

Of that ilk, I really prefer funk. Isley Brothers, Ohio Players, EW and Fire, Commodores etc.

I have pretty eclectic tastes. Disco isn’t at the top of my list, but it’s a great change of pace. I do like some of KC and the Sunshine Band (especially “Give It Up”), and some Commodores too! I’m really a product of the 80’s and most of my music is from that era, but the 70’s and 90’s had some truly great music.

Well…I’ve joined you in Sick Call . Fuuuudge. Had a day off in Miami and woke up to not just a sore throat but a burning throat. Started blowing junk then the left ear clogged. That puts me out of commission so now here I sit. Three more days of my tour and wondering how I’m getting home. Can’t really fly, so faced with a long drive from the Everglades to the Old North State. .

I guess I’ll go and find an ER or Doc-in-Box and try and get some meds. Maybe have a miraculous turnaround in the next 24 and salvage the rest of my tour. I hate getting sick. Especially in hot weather.

I'm so sorry you're sick, especially being away from home. Try a warm salt water gargle several times an hour. Do not try to clear your ears by forced pressure against your closed nostrils and mouth. It can push the infection upwards into your middle/inner ear. Try a deep yawning maneuver; it may unclog your ear. Unless you feel like you're dying, I'd avoid the ER. You'll likely wait forever. Urgent care is good for this. Check at your hotel for recommendations.
