Whatever don't matter he's back Xi have him escorted back into house arrest again if he don't behave he's no threat to Xi...
There is some discontent over Xi and the CCP is not monolithic. There are factions, it's just we never see all the moves. Only the end results. If Hu Jin Tao is back, then Xi has lost a battle behind the scenes

If Xi can lose, that's encouraging -- it suggests his power is not as absolute as Stalin's.

Or Hu group has agreed to behave and Xi has them all under control...

The internal struggles within China continue - the PLA tightening it's grip on the Capital

Lots of gossip and rumor here - but Chinese politics at this level is so Byzantine it's never anything else until suddently, things change......

Beijing’s September 3rd military parade is shaping up like no other—midnight tank drills, blocked convoys, internet outages, a bathroom revolution, live ammunition in the heart of the capital, and rumors of a coup. General Zhang Youxia, the elite 82nd Group Army, and Xi Jinping himself are all at the center of this dangerous showdown. Will Xi dare to inspect the troops—or lose control on parade day?

Yup. Xi's supporters in the PLA are being purged.

There are those watchers of the CCP's politics that are projecting that this is going to be a 'soft coup' so that they can show the outside world a 'peaceful transfer of power.' Then at some later date Xi will step aside citing 'reasons of health.'

But as you say, they're so fucking Byzantine that anything is possible.

*chuckle* It just occurred to me, do you think they're using the 2024 democrats as a model for their coup? :D

LOL. Beijing is way more Byzantine than that. The Democrat's are amateurs compared to the Chinese - 5,000 years of Palace Politics is at work here. It's interesting to watch, and personally, I have absolutely no idea but I do find Lei's clips really interesting.

I do like the way they use the backrooms in order to preserve a sense of national unity.

Most civilized countries do.

It's been announced that Vlad and little Rocket Man are showing up for the parade. My oh my, the 'soft coup' option odds are improving.

Of course Vlad showing up isn't going to help Xi in using the Eurozone to offset the US tariffs.

Hmmm, getting Iran's Great Leader to show up as well would be the perfect touch.
