My name is/was a pretty recognizable cultural reference and I don’t recall ever not knowing that. But it’s rare enough that when my elementary school teachers did the “what does you name mean?” Exercise I was always in the “ehhh, this name is close enough.” Category

So I honestly just learned today when I googled it in response to this post

My name has cultural connotations that dont represent me. At all. But I've always known what it meant. My mum and dad just liked it.

I was gonna be called my middle name, which is French (i think) but apparently it 'didn't suit me'.
