Two stories pending

One story "Obedience has its Rewards" (A slow-burn game of dominance, desire, and surrender)
is pending since 11 Aug

Second story "Cafe Voyeur" - A stranger’s gaze in a quiet cafe leads to wordless intimacy
is only submitted on 22 Aug - so that's not an issue

Is 14 days & counting, normal?

Seems to be normal. I have two pending that are on day 13 and 14 respectively and theres plenty of other posts with people mentioning similar wait times. The worst part is people who have submitted after me have since had their stories go live

Im starting to think they've somehow been missed or are going to be rejected for some reason as some others on the forum have said they waited in excess of two weeks before being rejected, but that's just a little insecurity I have. Maybe they are just swamped atm?

Thanks Silky - I already read that linked thread which said 15 days is the usual limit.
What were the other stories rejected for?

15 days specifically for "edits, Illustrated Works, and other issues that require more time to vet" the post also implies usual submissions should take approx 72 hours not two weeks.

As for rejections I couldnt say, just while searching the forums for similar issues to mine I come across people saying they waited a long time only to be rejected and were required to re-write parts of their stories.

I mean if this ends up being the case with mine I will most likely just post elsewhere, it's no big deal at the end of the day

Yes, I agree - I have published elsewhere anyway in less than 72 hours, so I'm not that bothered really - will probably stop trying to publish here

I had one that took 17 days this month. Never been more than 48 hours for the previous 70-odd stories, except for two that did.get stuck this year - Laurel apologised for one of them being delayed. I did send a polite query after 14 days, no response but was marked New two days later.

Either Laurel's trying to have a holiday or the site is getting overwhelmed.

Yeah there's a comp on too so that could be slowing things down.

Either way that is an  insane workload for one person. Im sure shes doing her best.

I first started publishing here a bit more than a year ago, and at that time I don't recall having to wait more than about 2 days for any of them. Got one now going on five days pending.
Kinda screws with my plan to send it in Wednesday, hoping/expecting it to publish Friday, so it can stay in the New Stories slot over the weekend, to enhance its exposure.
Best laid plans, etc....
