Writing stories in your head at the wrong times.

All the time. Sometimes I've even developed those ideas in the very same inappropiate places. I'm telling you, 50% of my most recent draft was written in the bathroom. In fact, there was an orgy I wrote in a very public place, and I had to have a little piece of paper working as some sort of map for my characters and their positions so I don't lose track of it. I wasn't alone when I wrote that, I was with family. Yes, this was written in my native language too.

The first entry of my sex journal I wrote it in public, at the library I work at, with people around me, also in my native language.

Now you're conjuring fantasies of librarians rubbing one out at work.
 
When I first started writing stories for my wife, I'd pre-write them in my head whenever I went for a walk or a jog. I had to stop because I noticed people staring at the groinal area of my sweats.

Well, that and I hate jogging.

Sadly that doesn't work when you're in a meeting with your boss, as she informed me with a horrified expression...

Fun fact, my boss is actually the inspiration for an FMC in one of my earlier stories. And she will never know.
 
Good morning everyone. I have a question and I hope it’s okay I’m asking it here (if there’s a correct place to ask this, please tell me) but does anyone know who I can approach to write a story for me?

This is why touch typing on a phone is a vital skill (AH threads passim). Along with keeping a straight face in a Teams meeting. Again, I rather envy the retired contingent round here.

It was easier a couple of months ago before management decided that everybody needed to be on camera in the Teams meetings... and I'm not sure looking anywhere but at the camera is not noticed... not sure about how touch typing on a phone would be helpful with anything other than mangling my thoughts up more.

I sometimes think we pervs need a special lapel pin and secret handshake.

As to your original question - all the time. Such thoughts have got me through many a sermon boring financial update.
 
Mine always happened at night when I'm trying to sleep.

My head would hit the pillow and BOOM, idea! Had to roll over an make a note on my phone.

Try to sleep again, but now a scene is playing in my head and two characters are having an important conversation and I need to write down this dialog RIGHT NOW even though I'm not there in the story just yet so I dont forget the exact wording.

So.... yeah. Been there.
 
All the time. That's when I pull out my phone and make a note so I don't forget.

The real problem is when the ideas are hot and I'm suddenly having to try to shut down an erection at work.
