I’m not convinced you’ve made a legitimate link between the awfulness of what happens/ happened in those states and the awfulness of what’s happening in Israel.
On rights -
What rights there are, are enshrined as unequal.
Jewish Israelis in Gaza have a superior position in the law compared to Palestinians; one is ruled by civil law, the other by military.
So it’s unsurprising that Palestinians suffer routine discrimination, displacement, disruption, even before the current attacks.
Defending such inequality consciously designates the group discriminated against as second class.


Respectfully, I think you and Engelman have fallen into the trap of responding to any legitimate criticism of Netanyahu, the Israeli state etc - whether you agree or not, whether it’s accurate or not - with comments about what Hamas and others have done to Jewish people.
Doesn’t that create a cycle of minimizing awful things done to one group if it’s carried out by the other group?
