Like, in what way do you mean?

Basically the answer is "yes," understanding that there are a lot of different kinds of bars, both gay ones and straight ones. You could find a quiet one, a Tuesday-at-noon one, a fern-filled one, a hard-rock one, a meatmarket one, a full-of-sad-drunks one, a full-of-gym-bros one, etc etc etc etc etc

The main difference is that you might meet someone to go home, or out back, or into the restroom, with, at a gay bar, but less likely at a straight bar. Beyond that, both types have huge variety.

What have you tried? What have the obstacles been?

Finding a hookup online to satisfy the urge is beyond easy. You could literally fall on a dick in like 15 minutes, depending where you live and what app/site/service you're using. If there are gay bars around nearby you, there definitely are guys using the online services in the same vicinity.

Are you being too picky? I think if you're saying "no" to everything that's available online, you're probably likely to nope-out of anything which happens at a bar, too.

Like - I'm curious, do you actually plan to even go at all?

If you do, and you don't resist them, you certainly will find opportunities at gay bars.

You could have a success rate of anything from 80% to 100%, depending what the particular bar's atmosphere is and when you go. Some are less cruisy and pickup-y than others, but cruising and pickups are never absent from anyplace where gay men gather.

I did not know that straight bars featured music that was fucking load! Not to over-generalize, but many gays are rather partial to, um...loads.
