The Odyssey was one of my favorites during HS. Given how long Odysseus was gone and how the suitors were consuming his entire home, Penelope could have folded and given up on her husband. But as the story goes, he made it home and Penelope fell into his arms after Odysseus cleared his home. She even maintained their bedroom - built around the tree that grew through the floor.
