Religion in general just needs to go. The world would be a much better place without itPerhaps the most evil book ever written in the history of man is the Holy Bible. The only entity deserving of Hell is God.
You said the reason they were called football is because the players run around in the fieldThose sports are not called football.
So by your reasoning, hockey, lacrosse and cricket should also be called footballThey are all called ‘football’ because the players run around on a field.
And if it’s the chili from pre-memorial day, don’t eat that after Labor Day either… lolDon't eat Chili after Memorial Day or before the end Labor Day![]()

You're wrongPeople need to stop bringing up politics and then feeling shocked when others don't align their beliefs with theirs
On spot. When you tell a story frequently enough, eventually it becomes the truth itself.I wouldn't call it evil, to me it's just a bunch of stories that eventually got documented by a group of monks in the 5th century. Think about it, no tv, no newspapers, no books (writing was the domain of the wealthy). Stories would have been the entertainment in those times, told over and over again passed from one gathering to the next, can you imagine how they would be embellished over time. If Jesus lived in our society now he would have been discredited a million times before breakfast. I believe a Jesus existed but the fish and wine miracles were just stories made to promote a narrative that people needed at the time.
There is of course the people that follow the bible and it's stories and believe it all to be true. I work with a guy who is well educated in mathematics and he believes the tower of Bable existed and all that went with it. I have found there are people that find comfort in believing it all and each day I am surprised by who they are.
The Creator's Game as football, I'll have to tell the rez cousins about thisSo hockey, lacrosse and cricket are forms of football if that's why they are called football...

"You get on your knees very smoothly, for a man" ..hmm“You’re well-hung, for a man.”
Pretty much. But I think this thread was very intentional. This is the most unintentionally funny thread in all of Lit.
I've always thought this thread was either created...or shortly afterwards hijacked...to out people of differing opinions. People get ganged up on and even silenced for opinions they've posted. I don't report people. I choose instead to silence them with my ignore button. This thread alone has kept my ignore button gainfully employed for some time now.Pretty much. Yes, I thought much the same. Though I thought it was more a honey trap for really problematic people - giving them a place where they'd be encouraged to say something awful enough to justify them being banned or otherwise moved off the site. But maybe that was just a happy accident rather than the reason the thread was started.I've always thought this thread was either created...or shortly afterwards hijacked...to out people of differing opinions. This is the Lit equivalent of “I’m a nice guy.”Yes, I thought much the same. I can't even remember who they were. But I think that happened?
I'm crap at Lit drama.
Especially if you were in on all the deleted posts. I wish we had stats for how many posts were removed from a thread. This is the most unintentionally funny thread in all of Lit.
Or go the Zoroastrian route of Sky Burials.Yes, the people garden is an interesting phenomenon.
I think we should go back to the days of natural burials where when people died you just buried them out in the woods and let them become tree food.
So much of the heartache and atrocities throughout history have been religion-fueled. It continues todayReligion in general just needs to go. The world would be a much better place without it
