What the finish will be is if Scotus puts an end to districting by race and these long-suffering folks get their first GOP mayor in decades and see what life is like under someone who is anti-crime, pro education and gives a damn about what their city looks like. When they don't have to worry about their kids being killed by gangs, it will be the biggest wakeup call ever then they'll burn down the plantation once and for all.

Maybe we can help out Washington DC by altering or tossing the District of Columbia Home Rule Act of 1973 (Public Law 93-198) which granted Washington, D.C. a degree of self-governance. However, Congress retains ultimate authority over the District and can review and overturn laws passed by the D.C. Council. Congress can revoke or limit home rule by passing legislation that either repeals or amends the Home Rule Act. Congress can remove or restrict the powers granted to the D.C. government. It can place federal officials in control of local functions and impose laws or budgets directly on the District. Fixing the inner city neighborhoods of cities like Chicago is a different problem entirely, if only there were a manual for disaster management.

Moynihan at least had the intellectual honesty to openly admit it was a disaster and tried to do something about fixing it. But it was too late, it had become a vote grabbing gravy train for far too many politicians so today we have a situation where 80% of black children are in fatherless homes.

The best thing about this is someone from the other side realizing he was right and wants this for her people's safety while the DC dems are literally telling their citizens to accept crime.

Here's the back story. This is an election year in NM for Gov. AND for Mayor of Albuquerque. Crime is a HUGE issue and the dems are not polling well. So the little hobbit (she's like 4'10" or something) is trying to play a backstop for her party.
