It's a rain of summer stories! It certainly brightened up this winter's day.
For anybody interested, the new stories are published around 0600 UTC, which is an hour when most US readers should be fast asleep

It’s always so fun to post in Loving Wives on contest day and wake up to sub-2 scores.
The scores always come up but I’m fascinated by the LW crowd that can’t wait to give 1’s to all the stories posted before they even possibly have time to read them.

Mine’s had a pretty lukewarm early response. Hardly the shower of 5s and enthusiasm I was hoping to wake up to. Oh well. Whether that swings up or not, it was worth it to have a deadline to shoot for.

I thought this might happen. It's a good story, but it's not lighthearted and it's quite long. It's also very niche.

Mine generally start slow but pick up speed. If I’d stop using LW category I’d definitely have a better chance but I’m stubborn. This is it, by the way.

Funny to watch the votes roll in. I was happy to see that my story was sitting at a 4.7 with 7 votes. Check back in a few minutes later and now it's at a 4.25 with 8. Bummer. Those early votes make a big difference.

Mine doesn't have the excuse of a rough category. This was me trying my hand at Taboo with a step sibling story.

It may be too long for what it is. I had a hard time trying to trim it down. Something about the taboo aspect made me resistant to paying things off too quickly; fresh off a recent thread I won't claim my characters insisted on their reluctance, but somebody did.

I am a big believer in writing what you want and telling the story you want to tell.
