I think most people have a social role or identity which consists of how they present themselves to others in society and a sexual role or identity which consists of how they present themselves sexually to their partners.

I agree with you. I feel as though almost everyone plays the role of what is socially acceptable in their own lives. I am guilty of this as well. In my everyday life, I am a strong determined independent single mother. I work hard and seem to be in charge, and have everything put together. I make choices all day.
