The departure of James Ryan, who had led the school since 2018, represents a dramatic escalation in the Trump administrationās effort to reshape higher education. Doing it at a public university marks a new frontier in a campaign that has almost exclusively targeted Ivy League schools. It also widens the rationale behind the governmentās aggressive tactics, focusing on DEI rather than alleged tolerance of antisemitism.
What happened to āinnocent until proven guiltyā?The Trump administration continues to harass Harvard.
Trump administration reportedly decides Harvard violated civil rights
The Education Department and Department of Health and Human Services told Harvard Universityās accreditor Wednesday there is āstrong evidence to suggest the school may no longer meetā accreditation standards.
The letter to the New England Commission of Higher Education is the latest escalation in the Trump administrationās multifront effort against the nationās oldest college. Loss of accreditation would mean Harvard could not receive federal student aid.
Thanks for sharing your misery with us.The Trump administration continues to attack universities. Now theyāre trying to oust the president of George Mason University in Virginia.
Theyāre using the same playbook theyāve used against Harvard, Columbia, the University of Virginia and others: pretend thereās antisemitism and yell āDEIā.
ProPublica has an in-depth article.
Itās pure authoritarianism: Grab control of universities, hire fascists to teach, and turn the curriculum into a right wing wacko propaganda machine. Soon these universities will be scams like Hillsdale and Prager.
Oh shut up Karen. Thanks for sharing your misery with us.
Remember folks...
Education Bad!
Education Bad!

Thanks for adding your name to the Miserables list. Blessings.Oh shut up Karen.

Weaksauce.I know you are but what am I?
Harvard University appeared in federal court Monday in a pivotal case in its battle with the Trump administration, as the storied institution argued the government illegally cut $2.6 billion in federal funding.
āHarvard has $52 Billion Dollars sitting in the Bank, and yet they are anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, and anti-America,ā he wrote. āMuch of this money comes from the U.S.A., all to the detriment of other Schools, Colleges, and Institutions, and we are not going to allow this unfair situation to happen any longer.ā
I am a proud graduate of a college that takes no government money. None.
Harvard and almost everyother college has been receiving government grants, loans, etc. Teh government gets to decide what it will and will not pay for. As we know back at my old alma mater, government money brings government control.
There is a very simple solution for schools that don't like the administration's requirements. Join us. Stop taking their money. Then you can run your college or university however the heck you want.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.Fake conservatives support federal government seizure of control of admissions, hiring and curriculum at private and state universities.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
And the woke Communists would NEVER stoop to such tactics, right?
The government shouldn't be involved, but once you take their money, you live by their rules. That's why my alma mater doesn't.Fake conservatives support federal government seizure of control of admissions, hiring and curriculum at private and state universities.
The government shouldn't be involved, but once you take their money, you live by their rules. That's why my alma mater doesn't.
If you don't want the government controlling admissions, hiring and curriculum, don't go running to tehm for funding. You can't have it both ways.
Private means private.
It has to do with the Feds deciding what they will and will not pay for, which taking their money lets them do.Trumpās $1 billion extortion attempt against UCLA has nothing to do with āliving by the rulesā.
Real conservatives oppose federal government overreach.
It has to do with the Feds deciding what they will and will not pay for, which taking their money lets them do.
They settled a complaint for money, as a couple of other schools have. The complaint was about a recipient institution having policies the Feds do not want to support. No, the demand for $1 billion has nothing to do with deciding what the federal government will pay for.
Taking money and paying money are opposites. Itās quite a simple distinction.
