Missing avatars

@jehoram, did you ever lose your avatar? I made a screen shot of it back when the "no nudity" policy was being hotly discussed. It looked like a target. I'm glad to see it's still showing up.

I am staying with this site because, well, it serves a purpose for me. Yet there is something weirdly passive-aggressive about Lit. To paraphrase Nietzsche, "If you gaze long into an erotic abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."

Nietzsche? I thought it was Soviet Russia.

It depends which device I am on. On my computer I see everyone. On my laptop and phone my avatar is missing and a few others. Today is the first day that I've used my laptop or phone in a few days, so first time that I've noticed the issue.

Update ... back on my main computer and damn all the white dots. I guess I'll have to go re-upload.

Poll: Which avatar should I use?
A ~ my trusty ol' pink silk glove
B ~ my sexy poker player art

So far, so good. But we'll see.

I'm still waiting to find out from people in-the-know Why this happened. I don't wanna bother uploading a new avatar until I find out why so many of us had them taken away.

Cause I can just upload the same picture of a sexy collar and it might be offending someone behind the scenes, then suddenly I'm getting on someone's bad side for trying to reupload a photo they deemed inappropriate. So if anyone finds out what's actually going on (Not just speculation) please let me know so I can decide if I should re upload or find something random to upload, perhaps a parking cone or my toenail I smashed last month.

Like Millie, mine (photo of a flower) changed to an actual photo of me; I promptly changed it and within a short period of time there it is, a map of Texas.

Bad news: we'll likely never get an explanation.

Why?

How hard is it to simply explain, either,

A. The deleted avatars are the result of a bug, go ahead and re-upload your avatar.

or,

B. The deleted avatars are the results of a policy change, and here's the new policy.

I'm holding out hope they figure it out or communicate new policy changes. Cause I'm not risking uploading another avatar that upsets someone and gets my account suspended or deleted.

Why do people get so paranoid? This is a ridiculous thing to say, frankly.

Isn't Lit based in England? I think British laws about a number of publication issues (libel is one) are stricter than in America. Anybody from there have further insights?
Contest checks are from the US and outside the US folks are paid with online gift cards. Pretty sure they're based here.

Several people here know where they're located, and yes. It's in the USA.

Wish I'd found this before I posted about the WTF of my missing picture elsewhere. I've already re-upped a slightly different version of the same pic I have on the mainsite. I can find where you do it here so I assume (always a dangerous thing) that it was the same place as my pic on my Literotic profile. But it will be days before that gets approved and I don't know that it will get fixed by that. Do you all?

I did it on my profile this morning and it was approved within the hour.

To get an icon back, I caved in and uploaded a new avatar. But this one is the model I've used as my online writer presence for years and years. It's up here, but hasn't changed, last I looked, on my profile at Lit. But this way, I can still keep an eye on all you deviants.
