I submitted a story on 7/31 at around seven in the evening UK and when I went to bed, it showed as pending for around five hours. The following morning at nine o'clock 8/1 it showed as pending only 3 hours, something having been reset. Today my works actvity shows it successfully submitted 7/31, but my pending file shows it has been pending since 8/1. Two questions !. Any ideas what happened? and 2. I have now waited for 8 days and it is still pending. (It is now evening in the UK) so is there a possibility this story is hung somewhere in the ether? I am aware that sometimes there is a long wait but this unusual and I have subnitted 74 stories and some poems previously

When the pending time resets, that has usually been the indication of a glitch, at least in my experience. I recommend sending Laurel a direct message here in the forum and briefly repeating what you said. Basically just the name of the story and how the submission dates have a discrepancy. I think it happens when she approves a story but it doesn't get moved to the publication queue. She probably won't respond directly, but if it was a glitch, it seems to be a quick fix on her end.
All that being said, eight days is far from a record waiting time. If it weren't for the time discrepancy, my advice would have been limited to 'be patient' a bit longer.

Yhanks

Thanks, I have waited longer, but not recently, I think I am trusted not to break rules and normally get published quickly. I don't like to bother Laurel, but have taken your advice. Best wishes
