Wat’s Carbon Water-N-Stuff Thread - Concepts In Iron And Wood!!!

I reckon so.

And there's the .45 version that showed up also.

Trigger seems a bit tight. I've pondered fiddling with it.

Yeah, with the stainless I'm not surprised. 1911 trigger (sear) work can be tricky, find a qualified gunsmith. I think there's a few up in your neck of the woods, ask around.

Wilson Combat has a long standing rep for tricking up 1911's and especially the Sooopers.

I had my Series 70 done by one of the SF armorers at Ft. 'Fucking' Bragg.

If they hadn't been lawyers, there's little chance that they'd have ever seen those firearms again.

The Broader Implications of the McCloskeys’ Case

The McCloskeys’ case has become a symbol of the ongoing debate over Second Amendment rights and the right to self-defense. Supporters argue that the couple acted within their rights to protect their home, while critics claim their actions escalated an already tense situation. The legal victory underscores several key points:

  • Second Amendment Rights: The return of the McCloskeys’ firearms reinforces the right to bear arms for self-defense, a cornerstone of American constitutional law.
  • Legal Perseverance: The couple’s determination to fight through multiple lawsuits and appeals highlights the importance of challenging perceived injustices in the legal system.
  • Political Divide: The case reflects broader societal tensions, with Mark McCloskey accusing the “leftist government” and media of persecution. The pardon by former Governor Parson and the dismissal of charges by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt further illustrate the political dimensions of the case.

And so on . . . .

No, even without them being lawyers I think they'd have seen them again because refusing to return the guns is an illegal taking.

They just would have paid a large fortune to get them back.

As cash flowed out the door and time marched on, I think that most people would have given up long before fruition.

Teh Priestess has a thread going on asking people what they fear most. Many have made significant contributions to it and what they have written has made for an interesting read and some food for thought.

And then there is the terror we see daily on display around here.

Those people over there are some very much healthier.

And saner . . . .

Life continues to create itself and fall away, and suffering returns, and delight arrives, if even for a moment--agony, peace, rapture.

Realize that now, in this moment of time, you are creating. You are creating your next moment based on what you are feeling and thinking. That is what's real.

Taxpaying Americans who create American infrastructure and provide services for America’s less fortunate are good for America. In fact, most other things are inconsequential.

I beg to differ with "Management" about how that occurs.

I do think that Gummint should make it so people cannot be economically wiped out by catastrophic health problems.

More interesting stuff to spend money on. Good news is, since it/they're for the AR platform, all that will be needed in most (well, probably all) cases is a new upper with the proper/desired chambering.

"ARC cartridges" refers to Hornady's line of Advanced Rifle Cartridges, including the 6mm ARC, 22 ARC, and 338 ARC, designed for AR-platform firearms while also functioning in bolt-action rifles. These cartridges aim to provide improved performance, accuracy, and versatility over existing options, such as the 5.56 NATO, by allowing for the use of heavier, more ballistically efficient bullets.

Key Aspects of ARC Cartridges:

  • AR-15 Compatibility:
They are engineered to fit the AR-15 platform, ensuring proper function and feeding.
  • Versatility:
ARC cartridges can be used in AR-platform rifles and bolt-action rifles, though they unlock their full potential in gas guns.
  • Enhanced Performance:
They are designed for better downrange energy and accuracy by firing heavier, longer bullets compared to smaller calibers.
  • Specific Models:
    • 6mm ARC: Popular for its balance of performance and low recoil, extending the range of the AR-15 platform with heavier bullets.
    • 22 ARC: Optimized for long-range performance in the AR-15 platform, delivering superior speed with VLD (Very Low Drag) bullets.
    • 338 ARC: A larger caliber that provides more energy than the 300 Blackout, with excellent cycling for both supersonic and subsonic loads and a focus on reliable suppressor use.

Mysterious boost to Earth's spin will make today one of the shortest days on record

The days are getting shorter and not just because summer is waning in the Northern Hemisphere.

On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Earth's solar day will be ever so slightly shorter than usual 24 hours, according to Timeanddate.com, making it not only one of the shortest days of 2025, but also since records began.

At just 1.25 milliseconds under the 86,400-second mark, it won't be noticeable, but it's part of a puzzling trend that's baffling scientists: Earth is spinning faster. After decades of slowing down, our planet's rotation has been speeding up in recent years — and timekeepers have no definitive explanation.

All for those that have more money than good sense.

Any ideas on how this could be done? Because I'm coming up blank (except for the "free healthcare" bullshit the socialist sect will spew).

Taxpaying Americans are now being told to do so much more than that. Now they will pay for the bizarre and chaotic tariff scam that will only benefit tax breaks for the multinational oligarchs. Capriciously implimented tariffs has long been used as a tool by despots for corruption and extortion.

As for health care, the oligarchs have convinced the MAGA sheep to also sacrifice that on the altar of the burgeoning oligarchy.
