I.read somewhere that in Germany office workers have to get so much sunlight in the office building... or some such thing....

Been a good week so far. Got down to see mum and take her out to lunch. We then followed it with a walk around a local park. It was lovely but she was determined to go down the steepest path so I had to grab her by the collar to stop her going too fast. I hade visions of her going base over apex. Walk back up was harder but I found a meandering path that took the sting out of it… and a bench for a rest on the way. Her strength of spirit amazes me. I guess it’s a generational thing. They find every reason to do something as opposed to a current generation who find every reason not to?

Anyway enough of that I am going fishing!

My mom was the one that made sure the business ran... my dad just did the work.... now they are retired 60 yr anniversary coming up and their new job is doctor appointments

That’s amazing.

I think it’s also nearly impossible to get fired. My niece lives in France (Altho she’s self employed).

My company is German and I think that they also have massive employee benefits. They also have a “union” for lack of better word, that represents worker rights and has a board seat. It’s totally different here in the US.

Our home office is this old ancient building. Not too much sunlight and three or four people crammed into a room. No air conditioning.

But the Germans have a great work ethic: they (typically) do a great job on whatever it is they are working on. Full focus. Then they go home (as work life balance is also an important part of German culture).

They are not so great at multitasking or working on several projects at once.

Quality is a Germanic value.

They do one thing.
They do it well.
Then they move on to the next thing.

Well you want the good news or the bad?

Good news to lead. Momma made it out of her procedure with flying colors. Doc said she did great, and recovery was pretty painless as they had her on a drip. She spent the night and I brought her home yesterday to a bounding two year old G-granddaughter! She’s happy to be home but is starting to feel some discomfort. They have her on one of the Oxy pain meds.

Bad news. The procedure went well but unfortunately the cancer has spread to a muscle. They took a biopsy and we wont have the full picture till that comes in…hopefully before I get off vacation and can talk to doc. Radiation was mentioned and I have been researching some Keto and diet options that people say have slowed cancer. I’ll try and post some links later after coffee to get the pro’s feelings on some of those.

On the bright side. She’s not down about it. Facing it with positive attitude which is half the battle. Had a cousin who was given 1 yr. He said cancer wouldn’t kill him and lived 5. It got him eventually but on his terms. I’m hoping we can just kill it…fuck cancer.

Edit2: went over to the Control Panel and my Avatar still exists over there? . I’m going to chalk this up to a glitch and see if they can fix it from their side…

finally broke down and put my boat in the water...it's getting to big for me to handle by myself. actualy its the same size i'm just getting weeker. now i can fish father out then just my dock..the milfoil is so bad its shrinking my dock fishing area thats why i had to get the boat out.

My Goddess's favorite video, is me going ass over teakettle!
I was on the phone on the patio, headed to the window to get a better wifi signal, pitch black night.... I went over one lounger, my knee went through the second lounger, dropping neither the phone or my smoke.
I got up, brushed my hair out of my face and kept talking.
Note: The loungers had been stored in the shop all winter and I had just put them there that afternoon!
She LOVES that infrared video of me, busting my ass!
