TEXAS HOUSE DEMOCRATS FLEEING TO THE LAND OF LINCOLN

Does your gut support gerrymandering?
You sure like to run your mouth out of ignorance.

First of all, the only time you assholes bitch about redistricting is when the republicans get to draw the map. When the democrats do it..............crickets.

Second, the new (proposed) Texas district map makes a whole hell of a lot more sense than the old one.

Old v. New district maps.

The Dems aren't breaking any federal laws, so I don't see where Patel has any authority. God knows that alone won't stop him, though...

Where is the money coming from for this little junket? We may be looking at bribery and that would make it federal.

Even for you, that's a reach. Just for starters, you'd have to prove the TX Dems didn't want to do this and only chose to do it when someone else offered to pay them to do it. Then there's also the fact that your side of the aisle has been doing everything they could to destroy campaign finance laws for decades now, so a lot of things that should be illegal currently are not. I could go on.

Maps are redistricted with the census. If a Dem did it we would howl just as loud. ITs like you're new here. We hate the EC when we win, we had it when we lose. We're pretty consistent with our morals.

You can run your mouth all you want but the investigators are going to follow the money, and it IS being investigated.

Good luck with that. There probably is no money to follow. You guys make the same mistakes we do. Fundamentally thinking that we're the same. We have a hard time really wrapping our heads around the fact that 'pain is the point' of most of your actions. You're not interested in a better America just fucking minorities and getting rich. You have a hard time believing we genuinely do want a better place and do our best meet you halfway and genuinely do.

Which doesn't mean anything illegal is going to be uncovered, nor does it change the fact that the TX Dems did not violate any federal laws by leaving Texas.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

The only thing I fucking said was "IT'S GOING TO BE INVESTIGATED." Got it? Good.

Yes, and the only thing I said was there is nothing to investigate. Something to think about the next time you feel like whining about wasted tax dollars.

I stated a fact, you stated an opinion. See the difference?
I said the TX Dems are not breaking any federal law. That is not an opinion; it's a fact.

And while I'm at it, your claim that they're being propped up by dirty money is an opinion, and an utterly baseless one at that.

On a national basis, Democrats have done a far better job than Republicans at redistricting for partisan advantage, also known as gerrymandering. That’s why Texas is now invoking the nuclear option by redistricting mid-census cycle. Democrats are of course howling, and some states such as California and New York are threatening to retaliate. They would be wise to think twice about that.

WSJ opinion columnist Kimberley Strassel does a great job detailing the GOP’s structural advantage in a national redistricting war. In her words:

“In a nationwide redistricting race, Democrats don’t have much running room. They’ve already redistricted the dickens out of their states.”

She lays out the math and the political calculus. If the move by Texas spreads nationally, it’s a war Democrats are likely to lose. Strassel persuasively argues that Dems would be better off continuing their faux outrage at Texas to energize their base, but they’d be foolish to try retaliating. Let’s hope Dems ignore her.

The democrat party has become the party of the an unhinged collection of emotional 4 year olds. If they choose to retaliate the results, both functionally and politically, should prove interesting.

A noble wish that many have held for over 2 centuries. It isn’t likely to happen in our lifetimes because the Democratic and Republican parties won’t go along.
Gerrymandering should be illegal.

Political power guides parties.

You're a broken record.

The congressional district boundaries have to be drawn/redrawn every ten years. When those districts are drawn/redrawn what will be the threshold that lives up to the definition of "Gerrymandering?"

You support gerrymandering. 👍

I’ve consistently opposed gerrymandering and think it should be outlawed.

The new district map doesn’t “make more sense”. 😆 The Republicans gerrymandered both maps.
