Missing avatars

I saved avatars for TxRad and others by right clicking on the image and saving the image file. I think that gets a clean copy that can be re-used.

More like the Stalin era in the Soviet Union, where photos were altered to remove certain people (who may have gone to the Gulags). And they didn't even have Photoshop in those days. For the moment, my Q train R-32 is still there.

de Sade was a minor glitch compared to Stalin. The latter did things in a really big way. By most accounts, he did seem to enjoy being evil. And apparently a ladies' man too. Being a dictator is the ultimate "bad boy."

My Avatar here was different than my avatar on the main site. I wonder if that has something to do with it, as it appears you can have only one now.
 
So, does anyone know why our avatars are disappearing? This thread has so many posts, I can't keep up.

The site needs to review avatars to meet their new rules. It appears that what they're doing is removing groups of avatars and waiting for users to upload new ones. That way they don't have to do every account at once, and they only need to review avatars for active users.

I've had a brief exchange with Laurel on a related subject. My side of the conversation assumed all that was the case. She hasn't said anything to suggest I was wrong, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm right.

You should reload your avatar. Just click on your name at the top of this page. Mouse over the white circle where your avatar should be and it will give you an "Edit" link that takes you to the options menu. Upload the image file there.

They've been taking just a few minutes to moderate the images. I think there's no longer a way to have separate avatars on the story side and the forum side. If you change the avatar on the story side, then it will take a while for it to update on all of the different pages.

Edit: based on Simon's post that Nuclear Fairy provided, I'm wrong. But you still need to re-up.
 
Like I said, my avatar was uploaded before the reading sites and the forum were combined. If they want to put up the one they've already approved on the other side, they don't need me to upload anything. The story side has been there for years, since I came back. The forum side's photo was still there when I first returned to the forum after a several-year's long break.

Don't expect them to fix it for you, Millie. If it's a glitch, then they may not even have a way of knowing which accounts are affected.
