The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

No, but the labs are. The landlady caught them red-handed yesterday pulling apart one of the girls. Landlady had 11 chickens earlier this year - 3 layers and 8 new ones. One of the layers went first, and now she's down to 2 little ones. Oddly, the ducks don't go over there and the Universal Puppy doesn't seem to care about the ducks. They get herded past the Puppy to go to the pond.

They got a chorus of "bad dog!"

I wager that they will kill again.

Daisy the chicken killer seems to have led Beau Puppy astray . . . .
Bad dogs! Are they killing for food or sport?

We had the rudimentary version of something like that in the high school weight room. It had stacks of weights and you moved the pin to include more to increase the Degree of Difficulty. We were assing around one day and I wound up doing one rep of the entire stack. I think it was supposed to be 1100 pounds. I might have weighed 140 pounds at the time.

I haven't seen any of those guys since Nineteen eighty-something . . . .
That's a LOT of weight to move! 🤯🤯

Home. Had a tough go with my old co-worker. I've been as patient as possible with him, but he talks too much, doesn't remember what we talked about an hour ago, and he really truly struggles to follow my dreadfully specific instructions. Really. I already thought it out.

Last month, we had a stint of a few hours in this one picky/sicky woman's apartment. She's a good sport, but have it done and clean and be gone when she gets back. Simple, really. Do it first thing, unfuck your shit, and be gone. Last time, he let the crew tell him that they'd get to it, thet got there after lunch, they weren't done and had shit everywhere and the 3-page bitch letter we got with 8 units on it, hers was a whole fucking page. I swore to the guys, him included, never again, and here's how - we'll do what I say next time. Today was Next Time.

I walked down the sidewalk this morning after a week's prep/pep talk about it and there he is, escorting the crew into the unit stack . . . next door. "But you said . . . " "I said, do what I say! You're giving your crew away and you're repeating every single thing that went to Hell the last time." "But you said to go in her place at 8:30" "I said, it's maybe 8:30. Tell them to wait and go knock on her door." Lol and behold, she came out by herself all of 30 seconds later, and disaster was averted.

I got a call from the boss with some cryptic shit about professionalism. Those always annoy me in a very special Somebody-needs-shankin' kind of way. That was after lunch. On the way home, he calls me back and tells me he's transferring this old dude and sending me someone else come Monday. So, my snake in the grass is leaving. And here I thought he had more character than that. Figures . . . .
Sounds like you got it handled then. Old guy gone!

Tomorrow will be an interesting day. I might have to slap a few cheeks (at another company) to get them to understand the urgency of what needs to be done, but I'll do what needs doing. If no feedback early on, we are going to the top level. Fuck-em if they can't get the shit done. A simple reply of "I'm taking care of this" would suffice. Of course, by Friday, I will want to know all the particulars. Otherwise, my crew is awesome and getting shit done.

We did finally get our sprinkler drawings back from the city. That took fucking long enough.

Now we have the next job to do, and I can hardly wait.

In rural France, the best time to shop (in supermarkets) is between 12 and 2. The French take a 2 hour lunch between those hours, usually three courses and using the full 2 hours. Most workers get meal vouchers as part of their benefits package, value at the discretion of individual employers, and usually worth between 8 and 15 euros (10 and 17 USD) at least half of which is funded by the employer. And virtually every village has a restaurant offering a 3 course set lunch for that price. Also, almost all businesses, bar the supermarkets but including banks, will close over the lunch period.

And that is when the Germans attack again . . . .

I've been to the Pacific ocean & to the Atlantic ocean, but I've never seen the other great lakes other than Lake Erie.
I've seen the great Mississippi river and been on several other smaller lakes in the US.
I've traveled from the east coast New Jersey to Southern California & from New Hampshire to Arizona. I've done old Route 66 ... Interstates 10, 70, 80 end to end. Lady K and I were members of ACE..American Coaster Enthusiasts, we would ride roller-coasters all over the US. It's time to stop now. We've had our day in the Sun...it was fun but as our health diminishes...
You have great memories!
