What the hell - let's do a chain story...

Connected vignettes would be more my speed, for what it's worth.
On a related note, the Story Games get cross-posted on both the Story Game Hub and the appropriate hub for whatever category they're assigned. Anyone think it would be worth petitioning Laurel and Manu to consider doing the same for Chain Stories? They occupy a similar conceptual space, to my way of thinking, and it might help with boosting views.

Chain Stories should not be a category. A chain story should be a series that allows multiple authors. That way, each chapter can be in its own appropriate category, just like a series.

The series creator would have options to invite other authors into the series, this could be done either by name or by password, and possibly opt to have approval of each chapter before publishing- or to pass on control to one of the other authors.

That's basically the system used on CHYOA. I thought it worked well for the site, and for broadly collaborative stories. They appear to have embraced bot-slop quite a bit more there, though, perhaps because the authors have a lot of latitude about what they allow once the initial concept has been approved by the site. Still, there's probably a way to adapt it to Lit's practices, if there's a will to do so.

No, but this was an exercise in writing a chapter where the main story is glimpsed through outsiders. They could have been quietly forgotten, except that Erozetta wove them into a conspiracy theory.

I mean, I could've ignored their existence, but being prominent for a scene in the film then one going missing at the end of their chapter didn't seem very ignorable to me.
