BREAKING: Corporation for Public Broadcasting shuts down after federal funding loss

Now, THERE's a convincing argument!
I know you just found your old, semen-stained post it note that contained your Lit username and password after losing it many years ago. but that doesn't mean anyone wants you back.

The US is just so fucked up right now it truly is a crying shame. I hope that tomorrow when I wake up the Orange motherfucker has died in his sleep.

I never said any such thing about you. Ever. Sounds like you're spiraling into meltdown mode. Again.

You, on the other hand, just made the false assertion that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting only got a small portion of its funding from the federal government, and that CPB had no rational basis for dissolving when federal funds were yanked by the MAGAts.

You simply did not understand the difference between CPB and PBS. And as a MAGAt, you do not have the intellectual integrity to admit your mistake, as has occurred before on this forum.

Lol, I never said anything like that at all. Go back and re-read the thread, it's not there because you're imagining things again.

Which makes me wonder if, perhaps, it is YOU who is entering meltdown mode. You certainly sound like it; angry, argumentative, irascible, and irrational.

SkyBubble stated it and you approved of his post. You did not correct him.

You're ascribing the things other people say directly to me?

Damn skippy, that opens the door to a LOT of things I could lay at your feet. None of them very flattering to you or your narrative.

See how that works?

Nope when someone i usually agree with says something patently false I correct them as I would hope they would do for me. That is how honest people work. I know that is baffling for dishonest stupid fucking MAGAtards.

During the time I've spent in the USA, I've seen PBS occasionally. As far as I can tell, it's mostly nonpolitical programming (all those nature shows and police procedurals from the UK, etc.) and when it gets into news and opinion, it spreads out a pretty good deal across the spectrum.

If Mr ALL-CAPS dislikes what he sees on TV, it's because bad shit is happening, not because someone at PBS is targeting him.

It's his mentality, though. Don't like the economic data on employment? Fire the statistician. Don't like the way interest rates are going? Threaten to fire the head of the Federal Reserve. Actually, for that last one, the curious point is that the minority on the Federal Reserve Board who agreed with President Trump that interest rates should be lowered said they should be lowered because Donald Trump's economy was in the toilet!

He could learn from a crooked boss who actually knew how to run a crooked organization. Remember the quote from The Godfather?

“Mr. Corleone is a man who insists on hearing bad news immediately”

Orange Julius Caesar should take that message to heart.

Honesty and you aren't even drinking buddies.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced on Friday that they are shutting down. This comes after the Trump administration successfully withdrew funding for PBS and NPR, both of which are supported by CPB. The concern was that there was extreme leftist bias at the broadcasting networks.

The letter reads that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting "will begin an orderly wind-down of its operations following the passage of a federal rescissions package and the release of the Senate Appropriations Committee's FY 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-H) appropriations bill, which excludes funding for CPB for the first time in more than five decades."

Home of hard-hitting exposes on the dangers of corporate greed, but no time for flyover country opinions.

Then you're not paying attention.

They're throwing a temper tantrum and the public, the people they're supposed to be advocating for and informing, is going to lose out.

This is what TDS leads to.
OK, here ^^^ Is what Harpy actually said. No one is "ascribing" any of these words to him, because this is a direct quote from post #4 in this thread. Harpy made this post in response to another post (post #3) that falsely stated the Corporation for Public Broadcasting received only 16% of it's funding from the federal government. Both posters were confusing CPB with PBS.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the subject of this thread, is NOT dissolving because of a capricious "temper tantrum". They are dissolving because they are no longer funded by the federal government, which provided all of its funds since the Public Broadcasting Act was enacted in 1967.

That is not a difficult concept to grasp, except for MAGAts who interpret reality solely through knee-jerk talking points and spin from their cult leaders.

Trump Derangement Syndrome, indeed.

^someone is having a meltdown. Too bad.

CPB is still educating even as it shuts down. Kids are learning There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

MAGAts believe that bringing educational TV to rural areas is a Communist plot. Trump loves an uneducated electorate.

Dam, you're dumber than I thought because you didn't learn the last 100 times you mouthed off with your projection, lies, and fake news.

It ain't "projection, lies, and fake news", MAGAt Boy. Trump even publicly stated he loves the uneducated.

Also, a "dam" is a device to hold back water.

Damn, you sure are a typical fact-denying cult follower.

Your statement is without evidence. Statements made without evidence can be refuted without evidence.

Teh bias at NPR/PBS is pertty much out in the open. They don't even try to hide it.
