A) it was sarcasm ;)

B) I wouldnā€™t actually expect a tattoo to catch dreams any more than Iā€™d expect a pendant to ward off evil šŸ˜‚ But itā€™s important to note that symbols have power because we give them meaning. Iā€™m a little spiritual in that sense.

C) The actual tradition of dreamcatchers was never about physical function and was/is spiritual. A tattoo isnā€™t a tool; itā€™s a choice to carry something around thatā€™s permanently meaningful. So Iā€™ll for sure leave the pasta to the colander ;)

Symbols have power, sure, but the image isn't the symbol. At best it's a symbol of a symbol. About as good as the tacky mass-produced versions tourists can buy.

Yep, itā€™s true that mass-produced symbols can lose meaning without the right context or intention.

But then I could argue the power of a symbol isnā€™t in how ā€˜authenticā€™ it appears, but in the relationship the person has with it.

My tattoo isnā€™t trying to replicate the original, itā€™s a personal emblem, not a replica. But yes, not an ideal late-night debate by any means!

You did sorta mention her earlier with no actual prompt. (Having read the threads I gather there was just a little miscom.) Happens to the best of us. Bean didnā€™t use your name in her earlier comment, it was a string of nice messages we were leaving to bring her confidence up, I doubt it was to stir any dramas with you. I have commented on your threads a few times and I think your amazing but thereā€™s no need to bring Bean into a page long apology/another reason to rant. I think your friend needs not act like a pigeon carrier and read things here to bring to you. Itā€™s only going to disrupt the waters and this is a lovely thread so letā€™s all keep it that way.

No passive aggressiveness at all. I donā€™t wish her ill will and it was a brain fart moment of mine but also donā€™t understand why she takes offense to a compliment directed to me when it had nothing to do with her originally. Hence I edited my dumb comment, simply addressed it in one post with my apology and then moved on.
I then posted for bean to look at it in her thread in case she blocked me as I do her so someone would tell her to read it.
