If you're on a computer and don't have an easy emoji interface available, emojipedia.com is a great resource! Just copy the character and paste it into your text document, it will come through.

Obviously they're divisive, but I find that they add some verisimilitude if you want to include a naturalistic/episotlary text message conversation in a story!

Computers have perfectly fine emoji (really: Unicode) interfaces built in these days. Those started being featured in the updated OS's around the same time as they did for phones.
