Here's how I understand it. Feel free to clarify or correct:
- CNC is a negotiated roleplay where one partner pretends to resist or say no, and the other continues anyway (everything is agreed upon beforehand);
- For free use, it's like saying, "You can use me whenever you want," without needing to ask each time.

CNC is roleplaying rape fantasies, and Free Use is just an agreement of 'You can fuck me whenever you want.'

But just to add extra (obvious) clarity, both CNC and Free Use require consent at all times. Without consent, it's just rape. There's no way around it. Also, anyone (regardless of previous agreements) can revoke their consent at any time, even if they've enthusiastically agreed to engage in a situation where they won't have the ability to communicate a safe word/command for stop. Once they no longer consent it becomes rape and if the other person doesn't immediately stop, then they should be turned inside out until all their stuffing falls out.

On a side note, Free use can be extremely casual. It can be as simple as Free Use for touching, such as hand jobs and fingering. It's an extremely flexible and customizable 'rules of engagement' so to speak.

I really loathe the term "roleplay," as it's so vanilla.

The way that I see it:

CNC: It's a term that means forced sexual relations (and non sexual).

Free-use: It means less forced and relinquishing your autonomy to your partner so you don't have to make decisions.

Both are consensual. Both should be discussed and the nuances agreed upon.

Neither are roleplay.

I enjoy bondage. But only would with a partner I trust.

I absolutely believe in the necessity of consent but we're all different and the rules have always seemed a little different for me. And I'm okay with that. In my life "Free Use" is more "Public Property" and consent is implicit. And I'm okay with that too.
