Hi, I can use your help
I’m a new author here.

I had posted on the LIT forum earlier, and someone kindly commented with a link to this forum post suggesting I reach out to you directly.

My story which was chapter 3rd of my on going series, was sent back by the LIT team, and the reason they provided was

“If you are allowing a grammar check program to ‘rewrite’ your words or rephrase your text, that may cross the line into AI generated text/stories (since substantial parts of the final draft may not be written by you).”

My story is completely written by me.
I only used the free version of Grammarly to catch basic typos and small grammar mistakes—nothing was rewritten or rephrased by any tool.

You above suggest this - document with change tracking enabled so Laurel
Am ready to this but my words file doesn’t show this or am mot able find it google search.

It does shows I spent 3098 hours to write the story under info section I saw while finding above

However, there are a few Hindi lines in the story, since it’s set in an Indian context involving public travel.
These Hindi lines (written in the English alphabet, of course) are followed by English translations in brackets.
The translations were done with editorial help I received from editors I connected with through my LIT forum post.
I didn’t do the translation myself, but these translated lines make up less than 500 words out of the full 13,748-word story.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the help! It took a while (2 whole months of work) but my story (chapter 2-3) is FINALLY) being published!!! It is scheduled to go live tomorrow!! For anyone interested, Chapter one is linked in my signature (Shoshana Ch 1.) and Ch 2-3 is live tomorrow! Ch 4 and Ch 5 hopefully soon to follow. (both are already finished, I just hope they don't get stuck in limbo/ai false flag hell like ch2-3 did)

I've been getting hit flagged for AI use, I read a post where it was suggested to use Track Changes on Word.
Should that be enabled the entire time I'm writing in Word?

The reason being that I don't us AI to create my stories, every letter is written by me.

What upset's me is that I didn't use AI, but as English isn't my native language, I need to use tools to help me with correct spelling, when I write in English.

In my understanding, the reason for witch hunt is to protect our copyright, and that is of course a good thing!

But somewhere in this hunt for AI content, there seems to be a misunderstanding about copyright.

In January 2025 he U.S. Copyright Office stated:

"the U.S. Copyright Office — which administers copyright protections from the government to human-authored works as films, TV shows, novels, art, music, even software — clarified that some forms of AI generated content can, in fact, receive copyright protection, provided that a human substantially contributed or changed the content in question."

Literotica is of course free to disregard this...

Actually, as per the FAQ, the primary reason is because Lit is in favour of human-created works about human fantasies. Ethical concerns are another reason, but from what little information has been shared, Lit is keeping back a flood of AI slop that would otherwise swamp the stories written by humans.

If your story is considered enough like something that would come out of an AI generator, you might want to take a close look at it and see how you can change that.

There is in my opinion a big difference in using AI tools to rephrase a sentence or paragraph, with the goal to fix bad language, and using AI to create a story. As long as an author has created the contents, I have a problem to see that it makes the content AI created.

I hope that my writing style don't, perhaps due to my English skills, makes Lit think I use AI to write my stories. But if that is the fact, then I will refrain from reupload rejected stories. I just will have to find other solutions for those who might want to read it.

As I stated earlier: I DON'T USE AI TO CREATE MY STORIES! Every word is written by me...

Is it by using a AI detector, which is at best, is very unreliable, perhaps?
(How do I know? I tested ZeroGPT with my ome of my own text, and it returned as 15% AI generated!)

PS! I use Google translate, Merriam-Webster dictionary, and search the web for words I don't know how to spell or translate to English.

Over the past few years, Laurel (the site owner and approvals editor) has probably seen enough AI slop to have a strong feel for it. Does she get it wrong sometimes? Probably, and that has to feel awful for the writer.

So, I must change my writing style to suit Literotica?

If you want to publish here on Lit, then yes. If Laurel thinks that your story reads like AI slop, then she doesn't want it on her site.

We've all had to learn to write. Nobody is born with an innate skill to tell an engaging story. It takes practice, lots of it. And learning to write fiction means unlearning what you've learned to write business reports or academic articles. It's a whole new skillset.

I will not change my style, it's already my own, and there are readers here that agrees with me.

PS! I already read the Self-editing for authors, several times...

I do not believe that style is the primary system of detection for Lit. If it is included, I believe it is the final step after other red flags were detected. Do not change your style, because style is not what got you flagged. Using a more aggressive tool like Grammarly (increasingly) a common piece of connective tissue among rejections. If you must use tools (as in this example, where English is not your primary language), do not let the tool make the change. You write it.

No, I deleted it completely.

So my final thought is "Don't rely on AI-detectors"

AI detectors, as we commonly understand them, are shit.

I do not believe that Lit uses ZeroGPT or anything like it, but rather something homegrown instead for their primary line of defense.

One person slopping together an AI detector to compete with companies that have poured in millions of dollars and hired the brightest minds in AI.... Brrrr...

But I have a question, if anyone know the answer...

If you could write content with AI, that is engaging, coherent and grammatically correct, would it still be AI slop?
(I don't think its's possible... yet...)

Without a word of warning or explanation a moderator deleted them. Citing Lit's policy on AI, which according to my understanding (and very basic common sense) applies to writing, not a couple of character profile images.

Make it make sense, please.

The art side is a whole other ball of wax, and I'm not really qualified to speak on it. If they were fully clothed but suggestively posed or suggestively dressed, the site probably took it down. I think the bar for the art is "Can I fap to this?" If the answer is yes, it got yeeted.

It seems dumb as bricks to say it's better to rip images from search engines without the model/artists' knowledge or approval, as opposed to something I specifically created myself to suit the role... but I appreciate the feedback. My sense of right and wrong is irate, but this isn't a hill I want to die on.

I blocked out some time to relook and rewrite my rejected story - hoping that coming back to it with cold eyes can help fix whatever errors happen when I write in fits and starts. The funny thing is that I wrote this one the same way I write everything else I do - stream of consciousness, edit, sleep, come back in a few days when I have time to write, repeat. Nothing else has ever flagged and I’m up to 17 posted stories.

No. The AI detector is, and only works because it is, a black box. Nobody (else) understands its criteria. If that was widely known, it would be easily circumvented by those with bad intentions.
