Astralis Academy

In a world of advanced technology, where ten percent of the world’s population have been gifted with superhuman abilities that in some cases make them closer peers with gods than men, an organization has been established to catalog and cultivate the abilities of these individuals known simply as “Gifted.”

Separated around puberty from the rest of the population and their parents, Gifted children are educated and raised among their own. Groomed from youth to respect and adhere to the established social order—the most talented Gifted youths graduate to become Heroes who maintain the order and segregation that allows for a crime-free society.

The Extra-Normal Disbursement Foundation maintains records on all Gifted individuals—even those who don’t earn the rank of “Hero.” “No power without purpose,” is the organization’s motto and stance to justify the compulsory registration and segregation of young men and women from their families and society at-large.

Most never question the order that the ENDF preserves and enforces.

The indoctrination to the established order is an important part of Gifted education, and those who distinguish themselves through strength, ingenuity or enthusiasm are selected to join the prestigious airborne academy—the flying campus, Astralis Academy.

Despite their unconventional campus, Astralis is the envy of every military or educational facility known to humankind. 95% of Gifted students who achieve the level of Hero train at AA, and all of the faculty are members of the “Immortals Pantheon,” a sort of Hall of Fame for retired heroes.

But human nature remains—even among super humans, and in a world of the super powered, power determines status and status denotes order.

(ASCENDED POWER): Voice of God- the ability to speak infallible commands and manifestations into existence.
Curse: Chronically insecure, Vince's ascended ability is tied to his belief in himself. Self-Doubt can weaken his suggestions/control to the point that strong individuals with psychic gifts can break his control with some effort. He's physically weak and vulnerable to straightforward violence.

Personality: A loner and outcast among his peers, Vince mostly keeps to himself. His fascination with up-close magic and imperfect attempts at mentalism only draw more attention to his lack of effective powers. His tendency to allow some of his more lewd thoughts to slip into other students' minds guaranteed his outcast state. He feels bullied and wishes for revenge--though his current power level won't allow it.

Emotion Weaving – The Headmistress can manipulate and amplify emotions in others through voice, scent, and touch. She can make someone feel euphoric, desirous, fearful, calm, or deeply loyal — subtly bending their will without them realizing it.

Used masterfully, she can calm riots, extract secrets, control a crowd, or bring someone to the brink of obsession.

Double-Edged Cost (Curse):

Empathic Feedback Loop – For every emotion she manipulates, a mirrored echo of that emotion seeps into her own psyche. When she induces lust, she feels it tenfold. When she inspires fear, that fear infects her mind. If she overuses it, she risks emotional overload — losing herself in a torrent of others’ desires, fears, or traumas.

The deeper she goes, the more blurred the line becomes between what she feels and what others do. It threatens her ability to distinguish who she really is.

Background:

Born to a single mother in the floating city of Caer Therin, Lyra began manifesting unstable psychic abilities at age 13—levitating books, hearing thoughts, and experiencing violent, unexplained visions. Her mother, fearful but protective, suppressed Lyra’s powers using black-market inhibitors.

At 17, after a catastrophic incident at her high school (a telekinetic surge triggered by a panic attack), Lyra was identified and offered admission into Astralis Academy, a prestigious yet secretive institution for training young powered individuals. She accepted, both terrified of and fascinated by what she might become.

Lyra is new to structure, teamwork, and trust. Her powers are formidable but volatile—her professors see potential, but also a ticking time bomb.

. Telekinesis (Core Power): Can manipulate matter with her mind; currently maxes out around car-sized objects but has little finesse under pressure.

2. Telepathy (Developing): Can sense and skim surface thoughts, though control is unreliable. Accidental intrusions happen during stress.

4. Dreamwalking (Emerging): Occasionally enters others' dreams without meaning to, often glimpsing suppressed fears or memories.

Emotional Dysregulation: Her powers are directly tied to her emotional state—anger, fear, or grief can make her lash out involuntarily.

Mental Feedback: Prolonged use of telepathy causes migraines and disorientation. She can be overwhelmed in crowds.

Physically average: In any sort of melee situation, she'd be only as capable as any other human woman.

Inexperience: She may have raw power, but her understanding of teamwork, tactics, and restraint is underdeveloped.

Public Persona:

Queen Bee Energy Without the Cruelty: She's not loud or bossy, but people gravitate to her. She doesn’t need to assert her presence—it fills a room naturally.

Sarcastic, but Stylishly So: Known for witty one-liners and deadpan humor. She’s the one who cuts through drama with a single, devastatingly accurate remark.

Mysterious but Put-Together: Her control over her image contrasts with the unpredictability of her powers, which earns her both fear and respect.

Private Persona:

Emotionally Intelligent: She reads people well, which is part natural intuition and part low-level telepathy she hasn’t told anyone she uses. This makes her a highly attuned girlfriend—she always seems to know what her boyfriend needs before he does.

Curse: Too many copies leads to a decrease in quality and if a multiple spends too long separated from Gwen Prime, the close multiples may attempt to usurp the Prime and take her place--which could result in the death of the Gwen Prime, though the world at large might scarcely notice the difference.

Personality: An outspoken pacifist, Gwen won't hesitate to defend her friends or her strong ideals with violence if necessary. She's fiercely loyal and would do anything for her best friend Lyra. Though she's never short of attention from boys, she's never had a serious boyfriend. There are rumors circulating that she's a closeted lesbian and regularly uses her power to self-sex, or that she has secret feelings for Lyra. What no one knows is that she actually has a dirty mind and fantasizes about men and women on a regular basis.

I heard back from the mod in question.

They apparently are actively trying to scrub any and all AI art. Seems like throwing the baby out with the bathwater, to insist that we rip images from a search engine without permission from models/artists, as opposed to original images created by me to fit the role, but it's not a hill I want to die on.

I just ripped new images from a search engine, even though they're not as good.

Age- No one really knows. Looks to be in their early 30s.
Physical description- Rowan is strikingly androgynous, tall, lean, with sharp cheekbones and expressive amber eyes. They often wear layered robes, in dark colors and rich fabrics- which is a very intentional mix of feminine and masculine characteristics. There is a large Ouroburos tattoo on their upper forearm signaling their own fluidity of gender and sexuality.

Position- Professor of Philosophy- they study the moral implications of power and identity. These topics are influenced by their own power.

Superpower- Reversal Singularity
When activated, they can take an effect (a wound, broken object) trace it back to the cause and then alter or negate the cause. Alternatively, they can choose a cause and force it to unfold in reverse, negating the expected outcome. It works on physical, emotional and conceptual levels (like ending a feud by reversing the grudge, or pushing forward a crush into full-blown infatuation)
Double edged cost- Memory erasure- Every use erases or distorts a memory of their own, not random, but always emotionally significant. The more emotionally invested they are in the event, the more of themselves they lose.

Involvments- Vince, Bobby and Lyra are all Rowan's students and there may have been interactions, but none of them can remember anything specific. Bobby especially is drawn to Rowan.

Rowan's sexuality- Rowan is intersex, pansexual and genderfluid. So everything and everyone is prey. Their own body is equipped to meet the needs of anyone truly.

Vi's notes- Sharky and Minxy- I really wanted to see if we could bring in an element of open sexuality to the mix and see how it plays out. Since I'm pansexual myself- I am willing to write the scenes with Rowan with my own characters/npcs if fucking around outside of hetero relationships doesn't interest you.
