The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

So, finally home after a 10.5 hour journey. A fabulous 2 weeks of which more later. It was marred only by an Internet connection that decided for moral reasons anything Lit related, or with similar content, was out of bounds. I hate this level of censorship but hey ho back now and will contribute as I can.

I hope all my friends are well... but please don't expect me to catch up.

So you know of my traumas on the way to our holiday. The background is that we use a Croft owned by friends in an isolated location on mainland Scotland. We live in Scotland but it is still a near 400 mile drive the last 100 are on poor single track roads. So driving that road with three wheels on the trailer was a concern in case another blew but we made it. The tyre was screwed and with the others showing signs of cracking it was time to change them all. Fortunately a local tyre fitter was able to order in and 48 hours later it was sorted.

The Croft at Armadale Bay is part of an old, 1800”s settlement of two room dwellings. Most of these are now derelict but our friends have modernised theirs into a cosy cottage with outstanding views down their land to sea. Add kennels for the boys and it a perfect setting for a couple of weeks

It is an isolated location and the peace and tranquility is palpable. You can’t help but melt into a semi-comatose state of relaxation.

It looks magical...and that tire looks BAD...

My friend was on the hebrides islands for a cycling holiday

I hate the people who sat they will meet you to purchase something on Facebook marketplace and dont show up....

They can eat a bag of dicks.

I broke my own rule I am usually pick up only no contact... never again

And now it is raining so hard that I had to pull over. Visibility is shit and I am afraid water will be up and I will get in trouble...

Eat a bag of dicks lady

Our first night of the holiday was greeted by a stunning sunset. The light here is just amazing which is why it is favoured by artists. So despite being shattered after such a long drive we sat and enjoyed this before bed. And at this latitude it is never fully dark and certainly 11.00 pm we still had enough light in the sky to walk the boys.

Well it was scary tree fell down in front of me stuck between 2 areas of rushing water. I called 911 to tell them and managed to.extracate myself when one of the waters receded enough for me to get out. I was singing hymns and I was so scared....never again
So sorry to hear of this and just glad you are safe and sound

Oh gosh! Be careful K. That sounds scary.

Glad you got outta there.

We had a lazy start.

But by 11am we were crackin, brining firewood down to be spilt.weeding garden beds, weeds whacking.

Then mowing the lawn at the building we manage.

it was one of those gray and super humid days were it looked like it wanted to rain all day long, but was just thick and humid…

Back at 6pm. Skinny dipping, dinner outside, the vacuuming the pool.

21,000 steps.

Still out here getting all bit up.

I'm glad you're OK...
I'm still trying to figure out how many lashes you get for putting yourself in that position... 🤬
