Um, there are enough Arabs / Muslims in the UK that ANY show of support for Israel by the royals would likely contribute to / result in a national security crisis. And there is enough Arab / Muslim investment in the UK that ANY show of support for Israel from the royals would contribute to / result in an economic crisis.

That ^ is true for numerous European countries.

Even the U.S. (especially the political realm) is NOT immune to Arab / Muslim influence (See: The 2024 election).

just to add my ninepence worth:

I'm not sure whether financial muslim influence would bring about what you suggest above. I don't yet know enough about the topic to understand the deeper financial implications. However, europeans, as a rule nowadays, are just way more accepting of people who exercise their right to observe their religions and don't have the same absolute fear of Islamic takeover that I see in the USA, despite the efforts of white nationalists/wannabe nazis.

yes, there's a significant number of Arabs/Muslims in the U.K... lots of Muslims are not arabic. My own neigbour 10 years ago was a white Lithuanian woman, also a Muslim. She was married to a Hindu and their children saw aspects of both religion in their homes but identified with no religion at all. Except in certain areas (the places farrage found support in), the religious dial is turned way down on ALL aspects, and people of different religions live quite happily, shoulder to shoulder, Islam with Jew, Catholic with Hindu, Sikhs with Buddhists, all respecting (not being particularly interested in) others' religious observations so long as it doesn't adversely impact them. Big cities like London are used to a melting pot of nationalities... it came with the territory of big rivers with big shipping trade. It's an integral part of british culture.
Religion really is such a minor part of the life of a brit, but no-one much cares if people observe their own religion so long as it's not pushed down others' throats. The BIGGEST backlash has always been that stirred up by the likes of farrage and the brexit tories, who have done everything they can to blame darker skinned people for the ailing white tory government that's now been tossed aside. At least for a while.

The main reason the U.K would see displeasure with the royals if they started overtly supporting Israel over the Palestinians comes less from 'the huge number of muslims in the country' (I paraphrase) and everything to do with how the majority of brits, of every ethnic background, view the situation regarding Gaza, the West Bank and Israel—and Israel isn't in favour. People aren't anti-jewish, but anti-netanyahuish and all with good cause; as you know, my own opinion aligns with this, too. I can assure you, now, that any 'muslim influence' would also be supported in the streets by that of other religions plus the brit majority who don't affiliate with ANY religion, seeing it as something rather arcane and stupid.

I would posit, however:

The theory hasn’t really been tested in the UK since Netanyahu hasn’t been welcomed by the royals.

I would also point to the murders of the Charlie Hebdo satirists in France and the attack on Salman Rushdie, etc when certain theories were tested (boundaries were pushed?).

I do suspect the common Brits of all stripes have more than one reason for being "less than sympathetic" to Israel, so the entire schism can’t be laid at the feet of the Arabs / Muslims - and any show of support from the royals for Israel (including extending a royal invitation to Netanyahu) would likely be met with outrage from many quarters.

That ^ said, I still suspect / would submit that the Arab / Muslim community in the UK would be the group most "nonplussed" by ANY show of support for Israel by the royals (for obvious reasons considering current events), and the government (not the common Brits) are / would be leery of testing any proposition involving a royal invitation to Netanyahu (hell, the first Trump visit nearly caused a national security crisis).

I don’t think we have to worry about it happening anytime soon, but still…
