What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

Not sure. Am polite and friendly.. anyway it doesnt matter

Have a good Sunday
Polite and friendly doesn't mean anything if it's not combined with having things in common. I mean, this isn't a dating site.

I'm not downplaying any relationships made here, but we're all here for some fun and some sort of connection (even if it's not the sexy time kind).

If you're looking for the perfect partner, you might want to move one - no one's perfect.

Thanks for making an assumption. It is incorrect.

No point in believing you can make any real connections here.

I’m not going to say it’s easy. And remember there may be a reason why people are on Lit, rather than instead of, or as well as being out in the real world.
And of course the lovely ladies here are bombarded/outnumbered by guys. Plus …often people are in different countries and lovely though we are (of course!), it is kinda inconvenient for them.

But I still chat with a lovely lady who I consider a valued friend after meeting for drink in another country 2 years ago.

And I dated another for many years after meeting up in real life.

I know that I’m not to everyone’s taste either on Lit or offline.
I can go weeks with an empty inbox.
and you’re right, the majority of people drift away.

But there have now been many times when I’ve had a Lit relationship and ached to get home from work so I can pay them attention. And they’ve said the same. And they have lasted longer than some of my real life relationships.

It is what it is. Maybe think of it like the lottery? You gotta be in it to win it, but don’t rely on it as your main source of income?! 😁

I sometimes wonder what different people do once they have forged the kind of connection they were looking for on Lit. Once you've found it, is there any reason to stay?

...and might that also be why, as you say, the majority leave?

Absolutely! I myself barely came to Lit for around 9 years for exactly that reason.

It also recently occurred to me that when you tell a dog “It’s okay”, you’re really telling them “It’s not okay at all”.

The only time you tell them “It’s okay” is when you’re about to do something they hate like giving them a bath, trimming their nails, going to the vet, showing them something they don’t like, etc.

So just know, the next time you tell your dog “It’s okay” you’re actually telling them “Prepare yourself because this is going to be awful”. 🤣
