The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Had to spend an hour and a half 2 days ago outside changing the ac units capacitor. Figures hottest most humid day and second floor unit dies. Thank God it was the compacitor and not the condenser. $10.94 fix... and I even remembered to de-energize the capacitor this time...lol
I salute you, ma'am!🫡 I would have NO idea how to do that. In fact, I think there's some words in there I don't know! 😅🤣

I was at a real hillbilly picnic many years ago and they served balonga balls with ketchup sauce.

I kid you not.

Someone must’ve used a melon baller on a solid hunk of balonga. It was kinda gross…. But also kinda good! 😂
I've never even heard of a balonga! Is it native to America? More pertinently, why would you eat its balls?? I really do worry about you guys sometimes. All the time really!!

Good morning and catching up from yesterday. Lots of back and forth about “musty balls” so it must have been a slow day. So I didn’t miss much.

My granddaughter comes for a couple of hours today to give her mom time for punishing yoga. The younger generation amazes me.

To all nurses, suggestions on a renal diet! I have stage 3a renal failure. I am not concerned as I am on a good type 2 diabetic diet. I just need to refine the diet.

Thanks nurses.
I hope your nephrologist has you seeing a renal dietician. You will need to limit or avoid foods with high amounts of sodium, meaning almost all prepared/processed foods including bacon, sausage, lunch meats. Limit or avoid foods that are high in potassium. Many fruits fall into this category. High phosphorus foods such as processed cheese and cola should be avoided.

Foods you should include are fruits and vegetables that are lower in potassium, whole grains like brown rice, amaranth, quinoa, and oats. Watch your protein amount.

I spent two weeks in the hospital for surgery. I was confined to bed for days, not sure how many, what with morphine and fentnayl. I remember one sponge bath and was so happy when I could get out of bed and get a shower. Not being able to get up and move and having the breathing tube taken out was rough. I learned to appreciate and what they do and what they have to endure too.
In two weeks, you likely had a bed bath most days. In all the ICUs I worked, we bathed patients at night. The lovely thing about the meds you were on is that, in addition to pain relief, they also are amnesiacs. You likely got much more care than you remember.

Hair isn't an issued with me, i have a buzz cut. I was in a private room. I think because I knew a good friend of the surgeon. There was a camera that could be panned around the room remotely. I saw it moving one time and I waved. Why would they have a camera?
Maybe to view your drips and make sure you weren't pulling on anything.

A neighbor, years ago, was a nurse at the VA. She was attacked by a patient and she was seriously hurt. She gave up the VA and became the nurse at the company I worked for. My daughter in law, a nurse had some issues too.
Sometimes medications can cause disorientation and even psychosis. I never really minded taking care of them.

Sometimes, people are just assholes. If we thought they were likely to hurt staff, no one went in their room alone. Also, they were more likely to be assigned to one of the guys.
