I'm trying to determine which of my stories are good fits for Literotica. I never write underage sex scenes, but I do have a story wherein it is mentioned in passing that a character got pregnant in high school. There is no sex scene describing this situation, it is just mentioned briefly, though it is an important plot point.

Is such an off-page reference to underage sex allowed here, or is the prohibition more absolute?

I believe what you describe would be just fine here, provided there's nothing more than just a mention.

I'd leave out words such as "high school" even if used innocently, I'm pretty sure they ring alarmbells in the LIT office. I'd stick with terms like "she was younger than the other mothers.." or "she learnt to be a mother at an early age." The less details the better.

Not true. I’ve had stories in which high school and highschooler appeared several times (most of the lifeguards in my anthology series are highschoolers, but it’s only the adults who have sex). and they were approved within hours.

I don't blame anyone for being super-conservative on this topic, but in my experience this level of caution is unnecessary.

Dozens, if not hundreds, of stories here mention underage pregnancy in passing, and none are banned. The key is "in passing:" no actual graphic description of underage sexual activity is tolerated.

This is the way

All of the characters in Hurricane Twyla are seniors in high school. Much of the story takes place in school on the seniors' last day of classes. I don't give anyone's age, but if you read the story carefully you'll find hints that all but one character is past their birthday (the fourth was an oversight). The two main characters (the only ones who have sex) are carded by police and pronounced "adult."
