Does it take longer for a series to be approved?

Hi all!

I created a couple of series and published them more than a week ago and they still show up as "pending approval". I don't mean the stories that go into the series, just the containers where the stories are grouped.

My stories were published much quicker than that. Does it take longer for series to get accepted or should I try to message the admins if it's been more than a week?

Thanks.

Same here, especially if you have a cover graphic. Laurel has to be eyes-on; unlike stories there are no automated tools to screen for violations of the guidelines. She gets to it when she gets to it, and not before.

Manual series do indeed take a while to get approved.

The partial alternative to waiting is to let an automated series be created, which happens if you give your stories titles that include chapter numbers, like Ch. 01, Pt. 01, Vol. 01, etc. This will make them show up as series on your profile; you can still convert this auto series into manual (with description and cover) later on.

I was thinking about posting the same question. I'm in the same situation as you (created a manual series more than a week ago, have since had a story published that I set to be part of that series).

@iwannadobadthingswithyou can you post in this thread when yours gets approved? I'll do the same. I assume these are WAY WAY down Laurel's list of things to do so maybe we'll both get approved at the same time.

Easier to eliminate it by using the same title for each story with Ch 1 through Ch how many. I find it a pain in the ass when I see a story thinking it is a stand-alone. Then I have to read 5 others with unrelated titles to begin to understand what is going on. And I only find out it is a series when I go to the author's homepage to see they are grouped as a series. And then there they might not be in order of the story, because the author thought of a scene that should have gone earlier so he writes them out of order.
