WASHINGTON, July 8 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way on Tuesday for President Donald Trump's administration to resume carrying out mass job cuts and the restructuring of agencies, elements of his campaign to downsize and reshape the federal government.

The justices lifted San Francisco-based U.S. District Judge Susan Illston's May 22 order that had blocked large-scale federal layoffs called "reductions in force" affecting potentially hundreds of thousands of jobs, while litigation in the case proceeds.

Do you think it's worked out well so far? Of course you do but you're not an honest person.

Firing core employees only to have to beg them to come back to work isn't succeeding, drunk person.
Getting rid of dead weight government workers and reducing the size of government is succeeding. And once the court arenโ€™t blocking everything it will finally happen. And I canโ€™t wait.

Lawfare is dead. Its time the dems recognize that. Their hatered for America and the United States is getting them no where. Trumps on a roll. The hits just keep on coming.

The only Justice opposed of course was Ketanji "I'm Not A Biologist, So How Would I know What a Woman is" Jackson.

If that were true, DOGE wouldn't have begged them to come back to work.

How fucking stupid are you?

Ugh. Sheโ€™s such an unqualified twit.
DEI hire. Her wordy questions and baseless dissents are embarrassing to read and hear. With her, itโ€™s always about emotion, how things ought to be, not how they are. Her reasoning constantly drifts into the political, even when her role as a Supreme Court justice demands constitutional restraint. Even Justice Sotomayor, hardly a strict constructionist, distances herself in this decision.

She doesnโ€™t seem to grasp, or chooses to ignore, the constitutional limits placed on the Court. She sees herself not as an interpreter of law, but as an agent of change. In her view, the Court exists to assist unelected lower court judges in expanding judicial power, power that can then be used to override the will of the people and undermine the very constitutional framework that protects that will, all in pursuit of some abstract โ€œgreater good.โ€

I've tried to explain this to you before (four or five screen names ago) but I'll try again in terms even you can understand.

You are absolutely correct that getting rid of "Dead Weight" government workers and reducing the bureaucracy is a good and noble goal. I don't think anyone but the most liberal of liberals would disagree. I don't disagree. I would support this too, if that was what was actually happening.

But, as I've tried to explain to you multiple times, THIS IS NOT WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING.

They are not getting rid of "Dead Weight." They are getting rid of ESSENTIAL government workers that are necessary for society to function. And it WILL impact you.

You get sick from food poisoning because that canned food you bought from the store had botulism. They fired all the food inspectors, and all those who process the major health code violations. Can't do anything about it; you're screwed.
Your mail now takes longer to arrive- cuts to postal service.
Your summer cabin burns down- not enough federal firefighters.
Meanwhile your vacation plans have to change becuase parks close- not enough national park staffers.
Companies poison your air and water with impunity- no regulation or consequence.
Cuts to science and research mean China and India develop leading technology, outpacing the United States.
Cuts to health care means research on illness is underfunded, possibly impacting millions who might get sick.

These are only SOME of the ways these cuts will affect you. Maybe now you will finally get a glimmer of understanding. I can only hope.

The SCOTUS ruling was 8-1, with Justice Jackson dissenting and Justice Sotomayor gently schooling her on a basic principle that any first year law student would understand. Sotomayor was much kinder to Jackson than ACB was recently.

The entire opinion can be boiled down to a simple fact; Trump issued an exec order for departments to PREPARE reorganization/termination lists. He didn't direct any department to terminate anyone.

Yet the lower court enjoined him from making the lists because (paraphrase) making those lists was unconstitutional. All I can say, and the court agreed, is YGBFKM.

Making a list isn't unconstitutional. Making a list which is intended to, and states it's going to, comply with the law is the antithesis of unconstitutional.

Just wait until we stick it ๐Ÿ–• to the Republicans and they are going to be crying foul ๐Ÿ˜
Sorry. I assumed we would have fair elections

Unfair? Postponing the effects of BBB cuts until after next election. Why?

They sped up the phase out for most Democractic bills.

Amazing what a sub majority 1.5% (?) victory can give you when you declare it a mandate and then threaten your own representativesโ€™ elections.

When will we admit Amerikkka is a fascist state? Not yet? 10,000 new ICE agents? Can we dress them in brown shirts?

Oh there's a winning message to the voters; vote for us so we can screw you in retaliation for Trump.

Please, please, please run a candidate on that message.
I guess that thanks to Trump all political messages from now on will be vote for me so we can stick it to the opposite ๐Ÿ˜†
