I wouldn't call armed assault agents and mounted horsemen riding into a park with kids in a summer rec program a 'show of strength.' It was a 'show of belligerence', precisely like a third-world aggression against its citizens.

Never in my life would I ever imagine that the U.S. would descend to such a dark place as it has these past few months. I grew up being proud of being an American, being proud of my country, and proud of my ancestors who fought against the Nazis and Japanese, fighting against the very sort of things that are taking place today here at home.
And instead of being proud, now I am scared and ashamed. This is an America that I had never known and never believed would come to exist.
And it is an America that never HAS existed before now. THAT is why we must do what we can, like the good Germans during the Third Reich, and fight back while we can.
We Americans, we ARE better than this. Let's stand up and show it.
