Um, the U.S. did NOT fund Iran.

The U.S. leveraged frozen Iranian assets to get Iran to agree to the terms of the JCPOA.

Iran DID use some of their unfrozen assets to fund their proxies, but Iran’s malign actions resulted in those assets being frozen again by President Biden.

As for UNWRA: after 10/7; the revelations about some Hamas operatives working for UNWRA, and the revelations about Hamas operations basically being conducted out of UNWRA facilities, President Biden cut off U.S. funding to UNWRA.

The U.S. was NOT funding “all sides”: Providing humanitarian aid to one side, and weapons for protection / deterrence to the other side while there was a tenuous state of "peace" in place was NOT an unreasonable tack for the U.S. to take. Hamas staging 10/7, and Israel not preventing 10/7 does NOT justify critique of pre-10/7 U.S. foreign policy decisions in any way, shape, or form.

The U.S. tried its best.

Bsg, when someone receives a loan, the borrower is subservient to the lender. Also the borrower will pay back the loan because of fear...... the lender isn't a false god, by default the borrower is placing the lender "ahead" of all others
