CBS Forced To Pay Up, Trump Lawsuit Ends In Massive Settlement

This case wouldve

Nah, this case would've been tossed out of court via first amendment.

Paramount is wanting a merger
BS. If that were the case, CBS would have seen this through to the end.

They made the choice to focus on their merger to be more important to them. If they proceeded, it's likely that their merger would be rejected because the President is a man baby.

Paramount knows that the President enjoys being told that he is right and seeks retribution for those saying otherwise.

When he has lost his appeals. By law, he isn't a felon until he is sentenced.
He has already been found guilty. He should be in jail waiting for the judge to figure out how much punishment he deserves. Meanwhile he has three more

indictments. Trump is a hardened criminal.

Let’s unpack that hysterical little outburst above. Trump was found guilty in a single case, a highly politicized prosecution over bookkeeping entries involving a non-disclosure agreement. Not espionage. Not murder. Not racketeering. Bookkeeping. If we locked up every politician who played games with campaign finances, we’d have to build a new wing on Rikers Island for half of Washington D.C.

He’s not a “hardened criminal.” He’s not even sentenced yet, and appeals are automatic. But we all know that you think due process is just an inconvenient speed bump when you’ve decided he's guilty before a trial even begins.

As for your mention of three more indictments, indictments are allegations, not verdicts. You might want to wait for actual trials before foaming at the mouth with Joy Reid soundbites. Instead of justice, you describe a fantasy of political retribution, banana republic mentality. So maybe dial back the “hardened criminal” bit until you understand the difference between courtroom evidence and Twitter rage.

You know what's funny about this? If corporate media hadn't edited the interview Trump wouldn't have had any ability to "shake them down" over it.

But sure, you go ahead and blame the victim. It's right in line with the rest of your flawed analysis on everything.
Trump was not the victim in the matter. He strong-armed the corporation, threatening to kill the merger they were in the process of completing. It needed the Fed approval. Guess who held the club over their head as a threat?

The so-called 'victim' you are whining about. It had nothing to do with flawed analysis and everything to do with Trump's transactional business opportunity to shake down another corporation for money—actual Trumpian business practices at work.

When he has lost his appeals. By law, he isn't a felon until he is sentenced.
Let’s clear this up: once a jury returns a guilty verdict on a felony charge, the person is legally a convicted felonperiod. That status doesn't change just because sentencing hasn't happened yet or appeals are still pending.

A jury convicted him. Sentenced by a judge. And now he has initiated the appeal process.

Appeals can challenge a conviction, but they don’t erase it unless a higher court overturns the verdict. There is no legal doctrine that says someone remains innocent until all appeals are exhausted. The presumption of innocence ends the moment a guilty verdict is entered.

This idea that he "isn’t really a felon yet" is just political spin. In the eyes of the law, he is a convicted felon unless and until a court says otherwise.

Hope this sinks in. It's hard to believe he isn't a criminal, but there it is... for everyone to know.

problem is when they surround themselves in the rw echo chamber, they lose objectivity and believe only what they want to believe. Tell the long enough, it becomes truth in their minds.

CBS is the one that has lost objectivity and, more so, credibility. They attempted to make a hollow headed presidential candidate look less hollow headed. Lol. :)

cbs caved to complete a transaction. trump just shakes down companies and countries.

you might want to look at the sources of some of the rw posters on here,,,, gateway pundit, epoctimes, rumble, and a few other "news" sources. try rightguides for starters.
Why? Do you think a national news source like CBS should be able to influence a presidential election? That's what we're talking about here. :)

Trump tried to shake down Putin over Ukraine. Putin told him to stick it up his sticky ass.

Trump caved in and cut the arms shipments to Ukraine. That'll warn Putin from doing that again.

No, that’s just what gullible sheep believe.

The truth is Trump took another bribe.

According to both the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, the settlement was agreed - with the help of mediator - so as to not affect Paramount's planned merger with Skydance Media, which the Federal Communications Commission has been reviewing and therefore Trump technically has the power to halt.

During the month-long settlement talks, some CBS News executives including chief executive Wendy McMahon have left their roles, due to their unwillingness to issue an apology to Trump.

There were also reportedly concerns over whether paying to settle the lawsuit could be viewed as bribing a public official.

That's you being objective. :)
Might remove your shades for a moment and see the reality of Trump's actions before you spasm over 'objectivity.' You have lost any that you might have had over defending a felon's narcissistic behavior.

Grow up. The only thing Trump has done to affect your well being is exist. :)
Eighty-six, her sister. That’s pretty grown-up. A lifetime of watching leaders rise and fall gives me solid ground to speak from.

Trump hasn’t just “existed.” He’s manipulated the system for personal gain, undermined democratic norms, and fanned division for political profit. His legacy includes inciting a violent mob, attempting to overturn an election, and dragging the country into a cult of personality. That’s not harmless. That’s harmful by design.

So let me ask: what would it take for you to say, “This crosses a line”? If no amount of lies, criminal convictions, or attacks on democracy move the needle for you, then maybe it’s not others who are stuck in a rut.

If you see yourself as someone who values truth, accountability, and country—where is your line?

But hey, it’s the 4th of July—so whether you're waving a flag, lighting a sparkler, or defending democracy one comment at a time... let’s all try not to burn the hot dogs or the Constitution.

Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸

And that has changed your life how? You've just described every politician ever. I hope you find some peace from your self ascribed delusions. :)

Still no answer. That’s telling. Not unusual for someone who senses—maybe even knows—that the man he defends is damaged goods.

And no, what I described isn’t “every politician ever.” That’s a lazy dodge. Most don’t incite mobs, hoard classified documents, or attempt to subvert elections. Equating all leaders to the worst among them isn’t insight—it’s surrender. If you can’t name a line Trump would have to cross to lose your support, then maybe ask yourself why that is.

As for me, I’ve tempered my anger. That’s something. Peace is harder. It’s a journey, not a slogan. And I’ve come to accept that the past can’t be undone—but sometimes, you can still reach those who haven’t wrecked their future yet.

My time? Most of it’s behind me. The end draws near, and no, I haven’t fully made peace with that. Maybe I will. And if I do, I hope I get the chance to tell you—before I go.
