One hot Saturday in the summer of 1977 we lived in a coastal community along the Intra-Coastal Waterway. One of our favorite activities was to go out to one of the lesser developed barrier islands located on the coast of North Carolina in our FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser.

As I'm six feet three inches and she's five feet three inches, it was long enough to just barely cover her. As we were heading up U.S Hwy 17N, we ran into one of those intense pop-up thunderstorms, which was usually no big deal, but the rain in this one became even harder. We pulled into a small, mom and pops type service station, where we often got gas, and stopped under the awning.

Totally soaked, we dashed into the store to wait out the storm. The only person in the store was a young man who worked there and appeared to be in his early twenties. His eyes went as wide as his smile when he saw my wife. The tee shirt was totally transparent! When my wife realized it, she didn't even bat an eye as she walked over to him and started up a conversation. I could see the poor guy adjusting himself behind the counter as they talked.

The rain finally let up and we said out goodbyes. Of course, he told us to stop by anytime we wanted to, and we left. I drove a little faster than I should have because I wanted to jump her bones as soon as we got home. It had been a really fun day!

We had a similar thing happen to us back when we had our motorcycle. We were attending Delmarva Bike Week in Ocean City MD and decided to ride up to Dewey Beach in Delaware to get some pizza for lunch and have fun walking around all the shops. My rule on the bike was all the safety gear, all the time. Riding jackets, pants, gloves, and helmets. No exceptions, riding is inherently dangerous, so we did all we could to minimize the risk of injury.

Had a good lunch and were on our way back to the hotel when we got hit with a major rain storm. It took us a few minutes to find some shelter which was an old gas station. The building and pumps were gone, but the canopy was still up. We pulled under it and it didn't take long for several other bikes to join us. Mrs. Stromers shirt was totally see through with her pierced nipples on display for every one to look at. A couple of other the women were braless as well and after a few comments and laughs, one the guys yelled out "Wet T-Shirt contest"
Every one laughed, but most of the women that had bra's on took them off, stepped back into the rain to get everything wet again and we all had a great time with a very improvised wet t-shirt contest.
The bad part was the temperature dropped several degrees and the ride back to the hotel in wet cloths was one cold ride.
