It and finders keepers were must watches in my house. My mom knew.As a kid, there was no better game show than Double Dare.
What kid in the early 90s didn't dream about appearing on the show?
There's Jeopardy and then there's everything else.As far as adult game shows. I mean... c'mon. You're never going to top Jeopardy!

Oh man, this is harder to answer than I thought. Iโm also having a bit of a tricky time differentiating between game show and reality competition. Likeโฆ are cooking shows game shows? So, what was your favorite game show as a kidโฆor even currently, of all time?
Iโve actually been thinking about this for a bit. When I made the prompt I was mainly basing it off of watching Hidden Temple and what game shows that made me think of.Oh man, this is harder to answer than I thought. I LOVED Legends of the Hidden Temple. Most of the Nickelodeon games shows were my jam: Double Dare/Family Double Dare, GUTS, etc.Got a little high yesterday with bestie before wedding planning and we started watching this awesome, classic game show!
This was one of my favorites growing up! Listening to the legends and thinking I could totally get through those challenges!
After talking to a friend about it, he suggested I make it a prompt. So, what was your favorite game show as a kidโฆor even currently, of all time?
I also loved American Gladiators!
And when I lived in Japan we watched Most Extreme Challenge

I LOVE the Dropout content. Game Changer is one of my faves, and I have a huge crush on Sam (and Brennan, for that matter).Oh man, this is harder to answer than I thought. Okay, when I was a kid, I loved Family Feud. I always did really well on the fast money portion. Cash Cab and Supermarket Sweep were other favorites.
As an adult I love Jeopardy, the ultimate classic game show. I also had a great time watching Ultimate Beastmaster with my family when they were visiting.
And, of course, my current favoriteโ Game Changer

Yessss! I have a crush onโฆ so many of themI LOVE the Dropout content. Game Changer is one of my faves, and I have a huge crush on Sam (and Brennan, for that matter).
Okay, in that case Iโve gotta shout out Survivor. That show has been on for soooo long and still got it!I think a reality competition is just as good. Maybe not necessarily the same but you still get enjoyment from watching the competition which is a big part of any game show to me.
Yessss! I have a crush onโฆ so many of them. Definitely those two.
Okay, in that case Iโve gotta shout out Survivor. That show has been on for soooo long and still got it!
And one of my favorite cooking shows to watch is one that I like to watch stonedโฆ Cuttthroat Kitchen. The absolutely absurd stuff that people have to do and the creativity involved is awesome.
Oh, and Gastronauts on Dropout which only has one season so far I think but Iโm looking forward to more.
The OG Iron Chef was the first Food Network show I ever watched.Honestly, this makes me miss Iron Chef, which was similar in terms of occasional ridiculous-ness, but always had really great and engaging chefs on the American version.
I havenโt watched survivor in years. The early years were better because they had know idea what to expect. I really like Alone.Yessss! I have a crush onโฆ so many of them. Definitely those two.

Oh man... I really loved Double Dare. And I haven't met a ton of celebrities, but of the ones I have, Marc Summers is one of the nicest.
But for favorite childhood game shows, there's really no beating Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? That was appointment television for pre-teen WJ. Do it, Rockapella!

I feel this way about too many things. So, new prompt! Sunday I went shopping with my best friend and as we were walking through the store we both had our own little nerdgasms when we got to a certain part of the store.
When we got close to the garden center she said โOooh, plants!โ and off we went to explore. Almost immediately after, I looked over and said โOoooh, LEGO!!โ with a little jump and clap dance. While we made our way over she commented on how she loved how excited I got and we both had the same response when seeing what we love in the store.
So, this prompt leaves it more open ended and not so specific. Whatโs that one thing you see while in the store that makes you stop and walk over just to look and explore even if you arenโt planning on buying? And if you have that one thing and itโs a pricey loveโฆwhat is one that youโve dreamed of purchasing but havenโt got yet?
One of my โI really want that!โ LEGO sets is the Hogwarts Icons set
