Your favorite ๐Ÿค“ Nerd Alert ๐Ÿค“

Oh man... I really loved Double Dare. And I haven't met a ton of celebrities, but of the ones I have, Marc Summers is one of the nicest.
But for favorite childhood game shows, there's really no beating Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? That was appointment television for pre-teen WJ. Do it, Rockapella!

As far as adult game shows. I mean... c'mon. You're never going to top Jeopardy!

So, what was your favorite game show as a kidโ€ฆor even currently, of all time?
Oh man, this is harder to answer than I thought. Iโ€™m also having a bit of a tricky time differentiating between game show and reality competition. Likeโ€ฆ are cooking shows game shows?

Okay, when I was a kid, I loved Family Feud. I always did really well on the fast money portion. Cash Cab and Supermarket Sweep were other favorites.

As an adult I love Jeopardy, the ultimate classic game show. I also had a great time watching Ultimate Beastmaster with my family when they were visiting.

And, of course, my current favoriteโ€” Game Changer

Iโ€™ve actually been thinking about this for a bit. When I made the prompt I was mainly basing it off of watching Hidden Temple and what game shows that made me think of.

I think a reality competition is just as good. Maybe not necessarily the same but you still get enjoyment from watching the competition which is a big part of any game show to me. I just got done watching some of Lego Masters! And it was Star Wars themed ๐Ÿ˜†

And I also love the Great British Baking Show! I think I tend to get more invested in the reality competitions because the players last for the whole season rather than one quick episode.

Got a little high yesterday with bestie before wedding planning and we started watching this awesome, classic game show!

This was one of my favorites growing up! Listening to the legends and thinking I could totally get through those challenges!

After talking to a friend about it, he suggested I make it a prompt. So, what was your favorite game show as a kidโ€ฆor even currently, of all time?

I also loved American Gladiators!

And when I lived in Japan we watched Most Extreme Challenge ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜

I LOVED Legends of the Hidden Temple. Most of the Nickelodeon games shows were my jam: Double Dare/Family Double Dare, GUTS, etc.

I LOVE the Dropout content. Game Changer is one of my faves, and I have a huge crush on Sam (and Brennan, for that matter).

Yessss! I have a crush onโ€ฆ so many of them ๐Ÿคฃ. Definitely those two.

Okay, in that case Iโ€™ve gotta shout out Survivor. That show has been on for soooo long and still got it!

And one of my favorite cooking shows to watch is one that I like to watch stonedโ€ฆ Cuttthroat Kitchen. The absolutely absurd stuff that people have to do and the creativity involved is awesome.
Oh, and Gastronauts on Dropout which only has one season so far I think but Iโ€™m looking forward to more.

Honestly, this makes me miss Iron Chef, which was similar in terms of occasional ridiculous-ness, but always had really great and engaging chefs on the American version.

I havenโ€™t watched survivor in years. The early years were better because they had know idea what to expect. I really like Alone.

I also loved American Gladiators and Double Dare! I wanted to give a shoutout to The Price is Right as I use to watch it with my Grandma.

Speaking of Jeopardy, I love Ken so much! He has really gotten into his role! His nerdy self.

So, new prompt! Sunday I went shopping with my best friend and as we were walking through the store we both had our own little nerdgasms when we got to a certain part of the store.

When we got close to the garden center she said โ€œOooh, plants!โ€ and off we went to explore. Almost immediately after, I looked over and said โ€œOoooh, LEGO!!โ€ with a little jump and clap dance. While we made our way over she commented on how she loved how excited I got and we both had the same response when seeing what we love in the store.

So, this prompt leaves it more open ended and not so specific. Whatโ€™s that one thing you see while in the store that makes you stop and walk over just to look and explore even if you arenโ€™t planning on buying? And if you have that one thing and itโ€™s a pricey loveโ€ฆwhat is one that youโ€™ve dreamed of purchasing but havenโ€™t got yet?

One of my โ€œI really want that!โ€ LEGO sets is the Hogwarts Icons set ๐Ÿ˜

I feel this way about too many things.

Power tools....I just want to look at them and imagine which one I will "need" next.

Art and office supplies....I will never need 80% of it but it's so inspiring to see what I could do with them. PS. I love the smell of Crayola. ๐Ÿคท

Music instruments. I want them all.

You and I have the same reaction to the Lego aisle.

My favorite set that I have is, of course, the D&D castle.

The set that I WANT is the soon-to-be-released Schloss Neuschwanstein.

The only other aisle that makes me stop in my tracks and go for a look-see is the board games / card games / party games. You know... for those blue moons when I'm feeling social.

I always check out the action figure section. Iโ€™ve never once happened across anything that is not a peg warmer but hope springs eternal.

I also usually check out the board games. It was exciting a few years ago when games like Ticket To Ride and Wingspan and such started being in Targets. But now the mix of even hobbyist board games is pretty predictable
