The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Power is back.

The lightning and thunder were almost instantaneous. Really heavy gusts and 3/4” of rain in about 20 minutes.

A few branches down, and I thought all of our sunflowers got blown over, but we only had one casualty!

You guys in the Midwest are probably laughing at my over dramatic storm report. 😂

Monday - C U Next Tuesday... I mean, really!
But it's "done and dusted" leaving 7/1 to loom
What's everyone else up to today?
It'll be smooth sailing tomorrow
Your lips to the Universe's ears...
Update: Had its moments but could have been worse
so frustrating when people go cheap and use trash products. but all done now and the water is fine.
Yikes!
I like to hope in those situations that it was a case of Fiscal Challenges and not Miserism or such.
Glad you have the know-how and ability to effect the change without a massive bill.
I bought the world’s worst thesaurus yesterday.

Not only is it terrible, it’s terrible.
Welcome back... you were missed
Hope the busy season is bearable - with all the Bs, EARs, and ABLEs ;)
Do you know any I don't know? Trade? 😅😅
New Thread just dropped... #Following!!
Exactly! The busiest person always gets the most work, however.
The most competent, too...

Luckily you’re handy. You don’t know how much you rely on water till ya don’t have any.
🫂 I actually got 7 hours of sleep so I was good for the day. Anything less than 7, I drag and need a nap.
Knowledge is Power... glad you know where the line is drawn for you
Good morning early risers! News today is a massive industrial fire that is releasing dark clouds of who knows what, in the big City. I am safe but feel for those affected.
The "ick" spreads farther than you think... be safe, B2 🫂
String em together..always sounds creative

It's easy...just imagine your patient pulling out his central line.... or dropping the propofol bottle.....
I don't work in medical and just the thought of the central line has me wanting to string a few together in reaction
Yep...I was like fill me up charge nurse.... and you know nurses.... there are those that do and those that dont
Roomed in college w/ 2 of the don'ts
One was a nurse for years, but hoping she either stepped up her game or had a career change along the line 😬
Me ex-BIL sent me this clip.

He is super funny and we still get along, even though had a divorce from his sister for nearly 15 years.

Anyway, this clip is fucking hilarious. If you have a Monday morning, funk, this may help.

Kudos to your ex-BIL... I recognized far more than expected. Was a nice background diversion today.
I did take her by a car dealership and we looked at a newer car for her, so she’s still thinking long term! Not even a thought of not driving anymore! I take that as a good sign!
As do I... I was a bit concerned until this... reassured now. 🫂
One thing I take comfort in is she gets to spend every waking moment with her great granddaughter. Our oldest moved in until they save enough for a house, so every morning is out in the swing with her and doing things together through the day. The bond they have is really something to behold.
Beautiful! I have one snapshot of 4 generations of women... I'm a baby. Given that I was 2 when my great-grandma passed, it's so special and the only one with all 4 of us together in the one photo. 💖
Had a neighbor trade me some elephant ears for some crepe Myrtle’s a few years ago. The E-ears pop up in the earnest places.

I came home last week and one had pushed its way up in my Bonsai I repotted last year! The one I posted pics on. I have no clue how it germinated in that pot? It stays on the screened in porch so unless they release spores? That or some Wood Fairy is playing a joke on me…
Internet has 2 words for you on Elephant Ears: corms and runners
Crepe Myrtle: seeds and suckers
Sounds legit... I mean... 😬
“It’s got a great beat AND you can really dance to it!”
A friend of ours gave us some hops to grow...
...that shit is still “hopping” up 10 or more years on. It is so fucking hard to kill...
...I noticed some growing at our farm and I have no fucking idea how!
Family friend w/ a fledgling Interior Design business used hops inside her home. Ended up with an infestation... aphids, mites? Not sure but she was not happy other than it was her home and not a client's.
One of my personal favorites, from a cheesy vampire movie.
*tucks that away for a rainy day*
I am spicy
😋 Wouldn't have you any other way... unless it means less stress for you.
In my past experiences, a commonality I've seen about nurses is that they don't tend to be "squeamish."
You are aware of their job duties, yes?
Be very careful, we just had a very damaging storm come through. Heavy heavy, thunder and lightning and very strong, wind gusts, and pouring rain.

Our power is out.
I was going to say:
Stay safe... take precautions... fill pitchers and bowls with tap water just in case... hope the power isn't out too long.
But now?
Nevermind
Power is back.
Yay!! That was quick. 5 ⭐ 0 Complaints 😁

It's all relative - but storms that take out the power? Something serious is going on...
I do admit to not getting overly concerned unless the sky turns a sickly shade of green :ROFLMAO:
And now a little humor...

Thanks, Rj 🤗 Needed that 😁

Wow totally impressed L2

Hmmm, lesse:

bought a backhoe
got to use it to get the truck (the guy who hauled it for us) unstuck
discovered that I still "gots it" - just add a bit of practice
charged the battery in the little tractor
it didn't charge
tooken the battery out of the little tractor and went to the store
got a new battery, some hydraulic oil (5 gallons) and some replacement trailer running lights where Some Dog chewed them
went to get diesel and gas for the chain saw
found the chain saw chain file
put the new battery in the little tractor
cut a lot of the south 40.

Poodles love it when they discover Freshly Cut Grass. It's a delicacy - easy to eat and ready-served by Teh H000man. They scoop it up like loader buckets scooping gravel or the like. So Happy Poodles were made this evening.

My neighbor is in the hospital so the wife asked me to mow their lawn.

Knocked it out at lunchtime since I was working from home today.

Almost got my front yard mowed after work before the torrential downpour.

Afterwards my wife and I planted all of our pumpkin plants we didn’t sell at our farmstand. It was super humid after the storm and wet. I’d been meaning to plant the pumpkins for the last few weeks.

And I got a lot done at work too.

So I guess that makes it a good day. Somehow I managed to in 16k steps.

Sounds like a fab day at the ranch!!

Great looking machine!!

Good price, decent condition. It has a couple of leaks to attend to, but most machines that age do. Looks like a fitting on one hose (maybe) and one of the swing cylinders looks to need to be re-ringed. And the bucket needs some teeth. That's easy enough. All of it is.

I wanted an 18" bucket. That's what it came with.

Allah smiles on his favorite.

Home..almost hit a deer.... good grief

I saw a mess of them coming out here yesterday. I startled a couple of live ones while driving. It must have been a bumper crop of them last year.
