I am in the process of writing an Erotic Fantasy Novel. Posting one Chapter at a time. (Ok, well, Chapters 2&3 were a bit short, and I put them together)
Chapter 2-3 got rejected for supposedly using AI. I can assure you, I did not use AI. I DID use Grammarly to help catch spelling and Grammar errors. I especially tend to overuse commas. But I do not let Grammarly, or any other AI write or rewrite any of my stories.

Anyways, I realized that it would be beneficial if I got myself an editor who would be willing to stick with the story from start to finish (or at least beyond just one chapter), so that they would know/understand the story and characters I am building as I go forward.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, please let me know.

***EDIT***
As has been discussed in the thread, this is a long story. It is expected to be somewhere between 100-150k words for the first "book."
I understand that it is a lot of work. If you are only willing to do a few stories (each chapter is about 10k words) I understand and would still appreciate the help.
If someone were to sign on to help with the entire project, I would be willing to discuss (privately) some compensation for the work, as it is a significant undertaking. (I'd like to think my writing is good enough not to need a ton of editing, but we all know that everyone needs a fresh eye)

Here is a link to the first chapter: Shoshana: Chapter 1

As well as the first passage from that chapter in case you don't want to read the whole thing yet:
In the twilight hours of Thalor, the sacred Elven city--where moonlight bathed everything in a luminous sheen and silence echoed louder than the choirs' songs--lived Shoshana Leafspire, once destined to become the city's High Priestess.

To most, Shoshana's fall from the Temple was a disgrace--a cautionary tale.

But to her, it was a transformation.

As a child of ten, Shoshana had been a dutiful one. She said her prayers to Sehanine, God of the Forest, and sang her hymns, did all her chores, but she hated every second of it. She would have preferred to be out in the forest running and playing.

Her father, Merith, the High Priest, forbade her from leaving the palace.

"You are to be a vessel of grace," he said, robed in ceremonial garb, kneeling before statues, barely looking at her. "Not some tree-running savage."

Hi Grant, how many chapters do you this will last?

I'm not sure of the exact number just yet. However, I have completed five chapters so far. And I expect at least another five to ten chapters before I finish this. And this is just the first book. A setup really for the main story that I want to write.

Each chapter (or at least each submission on Lit) is between 10-11k words. At five chapters, I am at around 55-56k words so far. So I expect to be somewhere in the range of 100-150k by the time I reach the end of book one.

Given that I'm submitting in chapters of only 10-11k, I hope that breaks it up and makes it easier for an editor. It's also been taking me at least two weeks (due to scheduling) to complete each chapter.

You're asking a huge commitment from an editor. Not to discourage you, or to tell anyone here not to help you out, but I think it's important for you to understand what you're asking and for them to know what they're getting into.

As a professional editor and proofreader, I do about 500-1000 words an hour. For this first book of yours, that would mean anywhere from 100 to 300 hours' work. And it's mentally exhausting, too. I often find myself completely drained after about 5000 words.

Fortunately for me, I get paid for it. Your editor won't get much reward, beyond perhaps a thank-you when your chapter is published, and the prospect of doing it all again for the next chapter. It's not their story. Even if they come to think of it as their baby as much as yours, that's still not true: at the end of the day you're the one who gets the views, the votes, the comments, the adoring fans.

I hope that you find someone, but don't be surprised if you don't, or if they give up.

I do understand the commitment I am asking. And I fully understand that not everyone will be willing, and perhaps even no one.

My hope is that I might get lucky and find someone. And even if not, if I can find someone willing to do a few stories with me, that's still something.

Also, if someone was willing to sign on for the long haul, I'd absolutely be willing to discuss (privately, of course) some actual compensation for their work. I realize now that I probably should have included that in the original post, and I will be editing it into the OP in just a moment.
