My challenge - coming up with a homemade substitute for gatorade with no refined sugar, artificial sweetener, food dyes, or citrus. I've got time before my colonoscopy to come up w/ something.

finally am on the last stage of the shower install..tommorrow is a calking day and then i'm done. told the misses that this is the last renovation i'm doing. i have the skills and the knowlage from 40 yrs in construction..i just dont have the stamina or strength anymore.

The sad thing about aging is we have the knowledge but our bodies are not as willing. I used to do my own electrical but developed essential tremors. I had to give up electrical and other fine motor activities.

Does being on the teaching side of apprenticeship get you free labor? I mean - there should be some perks, right?

Another busy day of driving but probably only five hours today. It’s a christening on the other side of the country in England. Because of the border it’s actually almost a direct west east journey and good roads so shouldn’t be a chore.

For decades our family went to an outdoor festival every summer. Often, family friends would join, too. One year it stormed so bad there was standing water several inches deep in places.
I made my way back to "home base" at one of the music stages after the storm cleared. Well, our tablecloth was still on the picnic table, but no people.
So, I bided my time and slowly rolled up the cloth "kneeding" it to squeeze out as much water as I could. When I was done, still no one had returned.
I wasn't worried - we all knew how to get back to the hotel. So off I went for my mile walk - with the rolled up table cloth under one arm.
At the hotel, I stopped in at the bar. Now I'm freezing cold because A/C + wet = *
Sure enough - Lucy (mom) and Ethel (her BFF) are together at a table. They laugh uproariously when they see I have the table cloth. Apparently, they considered it "collateral damage" of the storm?
That's not all - Ethel is wearing my clothes. (I was rooming with Lucy at the hotel).
They offer to buy me a drink for my troubles. So I sit down and join them.
It's at this point that Ethel then leans over and breaks it to me: "I'm going commando - in your clothes"

Recovering from knee replacement... those first few days on full pain meds? I couldn't send a text to save my soul. I'd keep nodding off - it would take me so many tries to send a simple "all is well" to friends/family.

I just assumed that the pretty blonde you posted recently was his Birthday card.

I'm swapping shifts today... off at 06:00, on from noon to midnight and the swap will be complete.
Rule of thumb.... Leave your biorhythms at the gangway.

I have a couple that have been show worthy at times but then I’ve managed to make them un-show worthy!. The beauty is you can just prune and let nature take over. This hobby teaches patience if nothing else.

That and reminds you that Mother Nature is in control, not us.

Here. These cats here are good, too. Their mommy is studying her ass off for a big test tomorrow. She's in school for respiratory therapy.


Speaking of, Willow always had respiratory shit. It's what killed her, I think. I also think that she lived in Geezer for all this time since she died. He used to do things sometimes just like she did, and that's my "proof."

Lady K spent Saturday & Sunday in the hospital for multiple tests to try to find out why she has excruciating pain in her ribs and back. She has chronic scoliosis and arthritis and now has a new array of medication including medical grade Fentanyl (a very powerful opioid pain killer) to sue sparingly. She's going to see a orthopedic doctor in July. I'll keep you posted on this as I get informed. She's presently feeling some better and is watching TV now.

In a way, we "graze" like cattle...
For example, I'm not a big eater when I wake up. I woke up to this big spread today and had a steak and a hotlink, an ice cream sandwich, an ice cream bar, cake and ice cream, then, a dressed hotdog.... followed by a powernap.
